Intro Anyone using Duolingo for European travel languages? [Intro]
Been grinding Portuguese on Duolingo for a spring trip and keep wondering if it's actually useful once you land. Last time I tried Spanish the phrases I practiced never matched what locals actually said. Food terms stuck, directions fell apart. If any of you are using these apps for real trips, curious what stuck and what didn't. Also curious how many people here are learning before a trip versus just for fun.
