Hello, you may remember me from my previous post. I had modded citra and pokemon omega ruby to run on the r36s, and it was pretty bad. People wanted me to share the source so they could do it as well. Unfortunately it seemed that my mod wasn't exactly compatible with anything other than ORAS, so I turned it into a fork of Zakuro. That actually made things perform a lot better, I have ORAS running at 60fps in some places! But now that all of the optimizations I made for ORAS have blanket compatibility, I was able to try more games, and unfortunately they're not quite so easy to run, but they're super playable after the int on and off certain settings.

With the issues that comes with blanket changes to cpu, GPU, and memory operations and pipelines, I made each of my changes toggleable, and I've found most games improve the more you experiment, and so far I've only gotten 4 games to run, Mario kart 7, legend of Zelda a link between worlds, and animal crossing new leaf. But that's only because it takes hours to troubleshoot each game (which is why anyone can add configurations to the GitHub to save the next person some time)

Now I will preface this by saying I wasn't going to release this due to my own concerns of how much I used AI for this project, originally it had done most of my troubleshooting and wrote at least a third of my code. To get this to run on multiple games I had to rely on it a bit more, especially when translating the existing work into the new version that is a fork of zakuro. And in setting up the toggles. That being said it's fully open source and I hope you guys go crazy with it

You must supply your own games, and the conversion must happen on a PC then the player must be sent to your r36, as well as the converted rom

Ps. I was playing those games one handed, I swear I'm better at them than what is implied by the video 😅

I have a R36S (the "Retro Snap" variation) and it's still kicking. Haven't swapped the SD cards yet either.

But mostly I'm wondering about Sega Saturn. It seems like these things was preloaded with about every game and console on the universe EXCEPT the Saturn. Really interested in this system because its really the one system I haven't ever played.

I was gonna go with yellow at first, then I wanted red. But then Golden Week came around, so I had to wait. After that, I saw a review video showing the transparent red version outdoors in natural lighting, and I knew I had to go for it.

I'm looking to upgrade from the r36s but I am overwhelmed with options. I mostly want built in WiFi for multiplayer with my girlfriend and Bluetooth for my ear buds. I'm not married to the vertical layout. The clicky clacky r36 buttons are annoying me and that's my main gripe. I am, however, absolutely wracked with analysis paralysis. Similar performance is fine, there is a lot of good things on portmaster that I would be sad to lose lm

Any recommendation. Help me reddit, you're my only hope.

so when you go into controls, at the bottom there is an option to save controls for specific game and also save for all games.

but when you click extra controls, there’s only an option to save for all games.

(also is anyone else having trouble saving some their controls to stick with newest darkosen update)

I used opus 5.5 to make a steam grid database scraper for the r36s, requires network connection but it’s super easy to run lmk if anyone would be interested in SH File i use it for ports only. (Requires API from steamgriddb) super easy to use.

Hi, bought a cheap R36S on amazon and I want to have access to the SDcard files. My pc just want to format the sdcard when I insert it. I can back up it just fine with software but how do I move the roms out of there?

I have a new reliable card running DarkOS all fine.

But I've got the stock card just sat there doing nothing. Any reason why I can't use it just for movies? When it dies, that's fine I've got backups.

Any reason why swapping my game SD card and my movie SD card around could cause problems?

I'm looking for help fixing an analog stick mapping issue on my R36S clone.

My hardware:

• Console: R36S clone
• Board revision: Y3506_V06_20260120
• Board variant: Soy Sauce
• The original microSD card corrupted on the first day of use, I wrote the following image in a new card and it has been loading with the original DTB files

Current OS:

• Image: ArkOS_R35S-R36S_v2.0_11072025_MultiPanel.img (AeolusUX ArkOS-R3XS Multipanel)
• I copied the original DTB files to the BOOT partition to get the display working.
• The system boots, detects Panel 4, and the display works.

The problem:

The analog sticks are mapped incorrectly at a lower level, not just in EmulationStation.

The left stick's physical movements are reported as ANALOG_R in the controller tester. The axes and directions are mixed up. For example, moving the stick up produces input on axis 3, while other movements show up on axes 2 and 3 with unexpected directions.

I deleted /etc/emulationstation/es_input.cfg and remapped the controls, but this did not fix the issue. The controller tester still reports the wrong axes, so changing the EmulationStation mapping alone does not seem to be enough.

The controller is identified as GO-Super Gamepad, with GUID:

190000004b4800000011000000010000

I also inspected the original DTB. It contains an odroidgo3-joypad node, amux properties, and invert-absx / invert-absy, but no amux-channel-mapping property.

I tried booting a separate microSD card with ArkOS4Clone, but the screen stayed black. I later found that the image does not support my board revision through its DTB Selector, so I am not using that as a solution. My original card still works.

My questions:

1. Is there a known fix for the analog axis mapping on the Y3506_V06_20260120 Soy Sauce board?
2. Can this be fixed by modifying the DTB or kernel configuration for my current AeolusUX ArkOS-R3XS image?
3. Is there a compatible kernel, driver patch, or other known solution that does not require switching to an image that does not support my board?

I'd appreciate any guidance, especially from someone who has worked with this exact board revision.
