Discussion For those that have played Re: Build, what's your opinion on the game? NSFW
I bought Queen's Blade Re: Build from the Nintendo eShop last week. I've completed all 3 characters' story modes in two days and I found the game to be okay overall. It's not my first Rogue-like so I was surprised that it felt easier than some of the others I've played.
It took at least two tries with each character until I understood the different strategies of each of their decks. After that, I stuck with a strategy that I was comfortable with and was surprised by how easy Aldra's protect the castle strategy was to beat. It was kind of disappointing considering I struggled against other characters like Risty or Menace more with their decks' play style. It may have to do with the fact that I'm a long time fan of TCGs like Yu-Gi-Oh so I just applied what I knew from those games to this. Or I was comfortable and understood the strategy I stuck with and how or when to play certain cards.
The one thing that irks me the most is how few playable characters there are. I'd love to be able to play other characters like Shizuka with her strategy of advancing her cards but stalling the opponent's. The 3 available characters you get to choose from are fun but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more characters.
In the end, it's fun but I definitely can't see myself returning to play it too often compared to the other Rogue-likes. Not unless they add more characters or make some of the already included characters available to play. Other than that, I'm curious what other people here thought of the game.
