Paid $11 and some change for a small latte with skim milk. The cherry on top is they charged me a dollar for the skim milk. I’ve never paid extra for skim, anywhere. I haven’t even paid that much for a Nitro Bar drink, and they’re arguably a more popular spot. Still good croissant tho.

Also, unrelated, but a spot around there: 2 tacos for $13 is bonkers. Where are we heading with these prices?

I have made an app https://fixmypvd.org for submitting reports to the cities 311 system. The main advantage over the official app is that it's easier to use on your phone.

Basically it works like a middleman between you and the official app. It sends your reports to the city app, then it sends the cities (admittedly infrequent) updates back to you.

I was motivated to make this by seeing posts on this subreddit complaining about the city app and a desire to possibly appear on the local news.

WARNING This is not an official city project I am just a guy

WARNING I did my best but this is kind of a hard thing to test without being a jerk and spamming the city with false reports. If it bugs out I'll submit the reports by hand and shut it down.

Remember while it's important this app becomes popular so that I can appear on the local news the most important thing is that we help the city become aware of issues so please don't file fake reports or anything like that. Instead why not try texting 5-10 of your friends that there is an emergency and when they call to check on you telling them about this app.

As an owner you know within the first year of ownership if your pet meets this criteria or not. If you’re too dense to figure it out ask a friend, a family member. If you’re still not able to figure it out, you shouldn’t own an animal.

As a dog owner, i am always very conscious of the setting, where I sit, what is around, and if it doesn’t work — we don’t stay. If another dog wants to come by, i ask if they’re friendly (and expect a honest answer back).

If the Women who went to longlive on the evening of October 14th reads this. Your dog shouldn’t be in public settings. I asked if it’s friendly, your response was yes. Yet lunged/bit at my dog and another dog on two different occasions. Wake the flip up you irresponsible human.

This is not to open up a conversation about the effectiveness of rent stabilization. Just reacting to the conversations I’ve seen popping up online. The comments I’ve seen from people reacting to the impending rent stabilization ordinance have been chilling and illuminating. Folks are just saying the quiet part out loud… just scrolled past a comment about rent increases in anticipation of the 4% rent cap that said “outside is free”. These are the usually the same people that demonize the homeless and complain about KP and having to see homeless people. I really wish we could have more compassion toward one another when we are discussing housing, something no one can go without, as if it is just an investment and not the key to our community’s safety and people’s survival….

Providence's Ten Prime Seafood will close on Oct. 25, less than a year after it opened across from Trinity Repertory Company.

But owner John Elkhay has a new concept ready to open there as early as Nov. 1. It's a familiar one for the Providence restaurateur who also owns Ten Prime Steak & Sushi and two Harry's Burger Bars. It is one built around beef. Specifically, he's opening "an affordable steakhouse" to be called CUT123.
