Hey folks,
Over the past few months, many miniature focused subreddits have taken a clear stance against AI-generated content. After listening closely to feedback from our own community we’re doing the same.
from this point on r/printedminis does not allow AI-generated content of any kind.
This subreddit exists to support actual creators who put real time and skill into their work. AI-generated content works directly against that goal, and allowing it would make it harder for the awesome work created by our talented community to shine.
The following are not allowed on r/printedminis:
If AI played any role in generating it then it does not belong on this subreddit. Please report any posts you suspect to be AI influenced.
Thanks,

Hey everyone,
Quick update – we’ve listened to your feedback, and the rule removing printed terrain has been lifted! I’ve also seen your thoughts on busts and statues, and I’ll be putting up a poll later this week to gather your opinions on banning those types of posts.
Thanks!

Gorghak the Skull-Splitter. A warlord known for bathing in the blood of his enemies and leaving a trail of crushed heads behind him. After centuies of slaughter, he stands victorious under the cold moon, looking for his next hunt
This was my final exam after 8 months of owning a 3D printer. I actually made this about a year ago and haven't painted many minis since then. Now I'm finally getting back into the hobby, shaking off the rust and preparing for some massive new projects in my workshop.
The painting process was a heavy technical workflow: I started with a black base and did a white zenithal shading. After that i applied Army Painter Speedpaint "Blinding Light", which beautifully toned it down into three distinct shades of grey, creating an awesome volumetric base. Then I went in with an acrylic marker and white acrylic for the fine lines, and finally layered the colors on top of that four-tone foundation.
Before anyone calls this AI or Photoshop: the moon backdrop is 100% physical, printed out on paper. I shot this in my photo booth(which I bought recently ) and the only "trick I used was manually lowering the lighting/exposure to get those deep, heavy shadows. No filters, no digital edits. What do you think?

Hi everyone!
I'm a university student working on my thesis about safety practices and risk perception in home resin 3D printing.
Since resin printing is widely used for miniatures, I thought this community could be a great place to collect some responses.
I'm conducting a short anonymous survey for anyone who currently uses or has previously used a resin 3D printer.
Here's the link:

English is not my first language, so please excuse any unusual phrasing.
Thank you to everyone who takes part!

Hello good Lords and Ladies of Printed Plastic,
for Halloween I want to run a Horror Skirmish Game for some Friends based on European Folklore.
Sadly I am comeing up short. I have good minis already for the more well known generic creatures from European Folklore like a Werewolf and Witch. I got a good Lindworm and Basilisk from a game called Anno Domini 1666. But I am comeing short for anything else.
Does anyone of you know 3D artists who have done Minis of Monsters from European Folklore? I don't care if they are Slavic, Germanic etc. I take them all.

Here is my version of Angron.
Great sculpt to paint and had a lot of fun with this guy. One of my fave characters from 40k and tried to use lots of red on him to 'express' the anger from him. Pleased with the final result.

I have been struggling here as, of course, creators arent labelling their stuff so they can be legally safe. But its been a struggle looking for busts of these characters.
I adore the Dune films and as the 3rd is coming soon, id love to do a bust of paul atreides or feyd. any of the main ones really. Similarly, i just finished the E day campaign and think marcus fenix with a lancer would make for a PERFECT bust.
but i cant find any. if i type in dune on MMF i get terrain. and if i use names i get nothing of what i am looking for. primarily i would be after busts. i am looking to paint, not play.
so if anyone knows where these models are hiding, i would love to know. as having a high quality bust of marcus fenix to paint would be incredibly cool.

Found out about planet shark (Super cool, up and coming skirmish game) and was instantly hooked. Oddly enough, NO ONE IN MY GAMING GROUP WILL PLAY WITH ME. In a fever induced haze, I created this... walker... thing, in the design that most of the mechs in the game have. It is called the bubble bustler.
For those interested in planet shark: Planet Shark by Moonless

For those who want to use this horrid thing, the file SHOOOOULD be set to a 60mm base already.
DM me, and I will give you the wretched abomination.

I recently got an Elegoo Saturn 3 from a buddy and it has been giving me some grief with printing things. The supports don't seem to be enough to hold the models half the time and some times the supports simply mistprint. If I could get some advice on how to fix this I'd be very appreciative.

My (young elementary) kids have recently burned through a box of old cheap "its not warhammer" style minis. They have really enjoyed cutting the bits off the sprues and gluing them up with plastic cement.
We got a roll of HIPS filament and im happy to "waste" it printing the sprue, as thats still way cheaper than buying kits for them to play with.
Can anyone point me in the direction of stl files for minis on-sprue to print? Free, paid, either is fine.
Cutesy and whimsical would be great, but id take anything.

3D model I did for a dragon miniatures project I'm working on, for physical and digital versions. A huge spectral dragon that feeds on lost spirits and unsuspecting travelers. Made with Zbrush. What do you think about it?

Hello Everyone,
I am new to resin printers and thought I'd reach out to ask some questions about printing the perfect mini's. I have ordered some prints from Major's Mini's in the past and was very impressed with their quality in terms of detail and how durable they are. The support would easily come off of their parts without damaging anything, and this would be even post cure.
I have an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16k.
I am assuming that this is a multi part thing. For a durable print, I think I might need to mix ABS-like with a form of flexible/tough resin to get the right durability like they have. I have read about 85% to 15% mixes for this, let me know if that isn't quite right (I've only used standard so far)
I'm also wondering how I get those supports to come off super clean without breaking the thinner parts. So far I have been auto generating the supports, and just started using these settings for minis about 80-100mm in height. Let me know if I should consider updating these settings to get that clean tear-off i'm looking for.
