hello! I am new to the subreddit, and wanted to share my art as a long time & hyper-obsessed Primal fan!

"She’s even more stubborn than her siblings, as well as constantly looking for a fight. Spike and Sonja always have fun sparring with her though, and she stays gentle with the humans they protect (As taught by mama Fang.)"

After rewatching the night feeder episode, it has me thinking that this should have been a complete different creature rather than a dinosaur.

As we know Dinosaurs are generally understood by audiences as animals bound by natural ecology—they hunt to eat. A dinosaur acting like a slash-and-dash serial killer requires a convoluted supernatural explanation.....Lets say a cryptid such as the Chupacabra is universally mythologized as a cruel, unnatural predator that massacres livestock and leaves the bodies behind. Leaning into a cryptid design would immediately signal to the audience that this isn't just an angry animal, but an inherently unnatural, bloodthirsty anomaly.

In folklore, cryptids naturally possess bizarre, otherworldly traits. A creature like the Chupacabra having bioluminescent or light-absorbing skin, an absolute intolerance to light (photophobia), and a chemical vulnerability to fire feels organically tied to its status as a "creature of the dark" rather than a dinosaur suffering from a bizarre skin condition,

A Chupacabra-like entity is inherently supernatural, grotesque, and foreign to the natural order. Making it a sleek, spine-backed cryptid fits the "fear of the unknown" trope far better. It positions the creature not just as another apex predator competing for food, but as a malicious, phantom anomaly stalking the forest.

Interestingly, looking at the behind-the-scenes development of Primal reveals that Genndy Tartakovsky actually leaned closer to a cryptid design early on. In the pitch animatics, the Night Feeder originally had a much more humanoid, demonic, and crooked-toothed appearance heavily reminiscent of a Wendigo or a cryptid rather than a standard theropod dinosaur.

This visually translates "impossible speed" and "supernatural abilities" much better to an audience without forcing them to suspend disbelief about a bipedal dinosaur moving like a laser beam,

Now don't get me wrong the night feeder is a cool character but I think it should have been better in my opinion.

Season 1: Best season for obvious reasons

Season 2: Has the best animation and I overall enjoyed it even if Echoes of Eternity tainted the season's quality a bit

Season 3: You can feel how much of a downgrade this season is compared to the others but I still enjoyed watching it

I was out on a hiking trip with my family and at the time I thought Soear had died permanently and well… look how that turned out, I don’t remember if I made a post let alone not do I remember where the fuck we camped where I made this tombstone 😭.

I hope somewhere out there it’s still there but probably not but yeah here you go. 😋

Spear and Fang have both fought a lot of history dangerous armies but what if let's say they ended up in Ancient Japan where the Samurai clan is at, how would the interaction go, how would Spear and fang view the Samurai's and how would the Samurai's view Spear and Fang?.

The much overdue slice-of-life scenes with Mira and the baby dinos. At last, at long long last Fang and her kids are finally welcome into a human village, and they even serve as awesome protectors! It’s like Season 3 was making up for the major lack of wholesome moments throughout Seasons 1 and 2. Sure, it’s not as action-heavy and dramatic for the most part, but it’s just so good to finally see Fang’s family living happily among an entire village that trusts them! Bonus points for the babies getting so happy to see Spear even though Fang was borderline hostile towards him. The babies know he’s cool!

That’s all. I just finished Season 3 today by the way.
