Question I’m looking for the Austrian gentleman who I met this morning next to Kolkovna in Prague 1

This is probably not gonna lead anywhere, but I’m trying my luck.

You came up to me on the street today and told me I was beautiful. You asked if I know where the Kafka statue is and I didn’t know. Then we chatted about the Habsburgs and Austria and then I was distracted by a work message. You left and I can’t stop thinking about that I should’ve gotten your number and ask you for a coffee.

If anyone has a friend, or colleague, who is a man from Austria around 50yo and it’s his last day in Prague today, please pass him a message that I would still love to meet up again.

Question How do tickets work in busses, trams etc?

We are visiting for a week, and it is always a bit nervewracking figuring out a new city and their public transportation. Have I understood it correctly, if we buy a day pass in the PID app, and activate the ticket before stepping into our first transport, then we won't have to do anything unless someone comes to check our tickets. No scanning on entry or something like that?

Question On a hunt for earrings

Hi guys:)

Trying my luck in multiple subreddits, hopefully someone will be able to help.

I'm trying to find this exact earring. It's gold (14k I believe), the red stone is Czech granat and the little white stones are probably zirconia.

The earrings were a gift from my Mom and were purchased in a jewelry store in Prague, I think in shopping centre Flora (OC Flora, Žižkov area).

They were a matching set with a necklace pendant as well.

Unfortunately I lost one of the earrings while travelling abroad and have no chance of getting it back.

I'm not from the Czech Republic so I'm unable to go on a hunt for it myself. I also haven't been able to find this exact pair on any online stores.

If anyone has any idea where to purchase these earrings or if there's a jewelry maker who would be able to make an exact replica, I would be incredibly grateful for any information. The earrings hold a huge sentimental value for me, and I really hope I can wear them again someday.

Question Any parents? Where should I post for offered activities?

I am a music and English teacher, and I posted on some Facebook groups that I am opening an international D&D activity for kids (and all ages). I got some responses, but not enough to open the group. Looking for other places to put ads on, or if you have specific FB groups I could post in :)

Thank you!

Question Rodinné právo Praha – doporučení na dobrého advokáta?

Question Tattoo cover up - recommendations for artists in Prague?

I’m coming to Prague in a few weeks and I’m looking to get the tattoo on my arm fixed/covered up/semi covered up. I’ve gotten a tattoo in Prague before and the artist was amazing and really knew her stuff and was telling me all about the tattoo scene there. Unfortunately she moved away and I can’t get in touch with her anymore.
So I’m wondering if anyone has recommendations or experiences to share for tattoo artists in Prague?
Basically my tattoo is a large line drawing of a woman and child so shouldn’t be a massive problem to do a nice cover up on. Half of it is fine and the other half is terrible lol. So I’d like to get either the terrible half covered up (the child) or the whole thing.
I would really appreciate anything anyone can share! Thanks so much.

Question English Speaking Tailor

• Upvotes

Hello guys, I have a ton of Levi’s Jeans from when I was a bit younger and unfortunately I followed the skinny jeans trend a lot so they are quite tapered. This was done by tailors back in my country so I wanted to have a bit of a consultation with a tailor to see if it can be undone as the fabric is still there and I would be really sand to give brand new Levi’s away.

Please let me know if you have experience with some skilled tailors that speak English. Thank you :)

Question Phone Repair And Payment Inquiry

• Upvotes

Hi! I need to get my Samsung Galaxy M52 5G repaired urgently in Prague, ideally by Sunday. It doesn't charge at all, and the display is also damaged.

My main problem is payment: I have money on a Ukrainian Mastercard, but no physical card, and I can't make international bank transfers. I can still pay for online purchases with my card.

Does anyone know a repair shop in Prague that offers online card-payment links, or have any advice on how I could pay? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am losing my mind. Thanks for responses.

Question Alternative nightlife?!

Hey, I’m visiting Prague soon with two friends and we would love to know about some alternative nightlife there! Any nightclubs or bars that are not so mainstream? Where they play acid or dnb or techno or electro? With a more political activist atmosphere? Let me know!! I’m more than interested to hear about the cool places!:))

Other Unfortunate experience in Prague - warning for tourists :(

My partner are currently interrailing Europe, and stopped in Prague for two days. The city is gorgeous and we have done nothing but run around and visit everywhere we possibly could in such a short time. We have loved our time in Prague, but there was a sour moment which was very unfortunate.
We visited the Spanish Synagogue, as we had heard the architecture was beautiful and wanted to see it for ourselves.
The architecture definitely was beautiful, but unfortunately the blatant Zionism and aggression from the security guards was disgusting.
Me and my partner had keffiyehs (not wearing them, but my partner had it around his shoulder slightly as a bag strap, mine was in my bag).
We were pulled to the side and repeatedly asked where we were from and if we had knives, they subjected no one else to this. They aggressively told us to put our keffiyehs in our bags, which we had already done without issue - assuming the guards had been told by someone higher up that they were not allowed in.
We were followed by security around the synagogue, and soon left after admiring the architecture and reading. Once we left and were off the property, we donned our keffiyehs as it was 9 degrees outside and had brought them as scarfs, as we usually wear them around as we do at home.
Security surrounded a few meters away from us, glaring, and we continued our walk elsewhere in the city.
We were followed by 3 plainly dressed security guards for 3 - 4 streets as an intimidation tactic. We did not engage in their show of Zionist cowardice, and continued to walk. They eventually stopped, all three dropping off one by one.
It is a shame to see such antisemitism from workers of a synagogue, and aggression from those employed to ensure the safety of those visiting and the holy building itself - not play stupid ‘intimidation’ games with two twenty year olds with scarfs.
I am sure we will be back visiting Prague, as we love the city, but definitely avoiding such a Zionist place, and warning others of what to expect from there.
