42nd Anniversary (October 15th)

EnForcer - 2015 - From Beyond - From Beyond

He is walking among us

A wanderer in time and darkness

Crossed oceans of hours

Sleep and death are sister and brother

From beyond

He is caught in a death dance

Maelstrom of millennia

A child of the night

What he touches withers and dies

How bout a phantom for Halloween season?

Hey power metal community,

With Bruce Dickinson showing us on his recent solo tour that his melodic vocal range and energy outside of Maiden are as vibrant as ever, it got me thinking about the ultimate power metal duet.

Tobias Sammet (Avantasia / Edguy) has spent decades orchestrating some of the most legendary, high-energy vocal collaborations in heavy metal history. Imagine Bruce bringing his iconic storytelling vocals over a massive, fast-paced power metal track built specifically around his operatic style. Both of them actually share a great musical history with legends like Michael Kiske and Alice Cooper, so the artistic connection is definitely there!

I reached out to the admin team first to respect the sub's rules, and since they kindly gave me the green light, I’m sharing the fan petition I started on Change.org. We just hit 36 signatures, and the debate on other metal subs has already gathered over 13k views this week. It's just a fun way to show both managements that the power metal community would love to see this happen.

If you love the idea of this crossover, feel free to sign and share here:

43rd Anniversary (Oct. 14th, 1983)

Sabaton - 2006 - Attero Dominatus - Angels Calling

*The descriptions fit more to the massacre battles of WW I, but it can be much more general.

The First World War, which kicked off on July 28, 1914, and ended on November 11, 1918, marked the beginning of trench warfare. Because of the weapons used to fight this bloody global conflict, soldiers on the Western Front were forced to dig trenches in order to protect themselves.

Sent to kill, to watch no man's land

Snipers are moving unseen

Fight for land, to lose it again

Shrapnel is filling the air

Hell on earth, the trenches mean death, better keep your head down low

Charge their lines, the ultimate test it's a synchronized sacrifice

Get the wounded after dark

Left alone in no man's land

Maddening chaos at the front

Dream of heaven

Angels are calling your name

Shells and guns, a rifle and scope

Bullets are wearing your name

Losing track of time and of space

Midnight at sanity's edge

Losing friends to artillery shells, at the break of dawn

Break their will, as yours has been broken, they're here alone, dream of home

Charge at dawn to gain a yard

Scout at night to guard their lines

Leave your life in fortunes hand

When the bullet hits it's mark

Know your time in hell has been served

You won't return to home

One of the weirdest, yet awesome vocals I've heard

I've tried a few others, but I just feel like it's got the best balance of any I've tried. What would your competition be?

Good album, shame it was their only release.

Alpha Tiger - 2013 - Beneath The Surface - We Came From The Gutter

Shall I tell you some secrets, my sweet little son?

Don't trust those who talk with cloven tongue

Oh beware when you step out into the blue

'cause vultures in the sky are lurking for you

Now you're prepared to go out and break through the fence

Just a small child, but you got the right in your hands

We came from the gutter

And still we are here

Call for revolution

Salvation is near

The Rich men sells heart and soul and take money instead

While a beggar in the street shares his last bread

Don't be jealous you have all what you need inside

Salvation waits in the plain, the plain shades of life

We're not wealthy, but envy can't keep us down

It's not more important what we could have bad, but what we have now

We came from the gutter

And still we are here

Call for revolution

Salvation is near

Sometimes you will find darkness outside of the night

Sometimes you will find wisdom in the heart of a child

Take all your chances, remember to share your heartbeat

If it's your will, you could have the world at your feet

Now you're prepared to go out and break through the fence

Just a small child, but you got the right in your hands

We came from the gutter

And still we are here

Call for revolution

Salvation is near

Not as good as Judicator's better releases but still an enjoyable album.
