The thing is, Trump hopes that this action affects other races. They know she will be re-elected but maybe it could help a GOP candidate elsewhere.
Plus it is just plain hateful election interference.

Most Democrat districts are barely a 60/40 split between D and R. It only takes a few switching sides or sitting out to make a difference. Omarâs district is like 75/25 so it mightnât flip hers, but thereâs a lot of Red Minnesota out there.

This is bigoted bullshit and election interference. They have nothing on her but that won't matter to the brain dead people that watch faux news all day

I'm so excited to see how this new precedent plays out when Dems are back in power.
I say investigate every MAGA official ever for their crimes.

u/Vaxx88 12h ago
I agree, but the previous democratic administration SHOULD have done that. Biden decided that putting the DOJ to work on those criminals would be seen as âtoo partisanâ
(Even though the rightwing were already accusing them of âweaponizing the criminal justice systemâ)
Letâs hope the dems might take the gloves off this time.

I hope so. Even if I disagree with many of someone's policy, an "avenging tour" to outdo Trump's revenge tour would get me to strongly consider voting for someone anyway

OP doesnât have anyone left that wants to hear this junk in their real life, so theyâre here.

You know it takes a special kind of hypocrisy to post this, but have a post saying you're happily married and in a healthy relationship to a wife who is of immigrant heritage, and then comment on other subs how you want to hook up with other people... just saying.

This is current and future campaign fodder the right will use for a decade or more - âremember when the Dems had a prominent representative who was investigated for immigration fraud and they didnât have her resign?â Itâs all smoke and mirrors, and a ploy to set up and justify future despicable behavior. They know there is nothing there, but itâs all optics to distract now, and then distort later.

This is purely political. To execute these subpoenas and search warrants 3 weeks before an election the subject is a candidate in is absolutely not normal. This DOJ is just Trumps revenge team of lawyers paid for by the taxpayers. This is a disgusting perversion of the justice system.

I wonder why the department of justice isn't going after the immigrant who loud and proud admitted to breaking the law working on his student visa that he continued to use after dropping out of school

"The investigation is seeking information to see where it leads, the source said."
So even the investigators admit they're just on an expedition.
Make no mistake, this is who we are.

Yeah whoever thinks this is ok is a racist POS. Protect Ilhan and Minnesota at all costs. This is domestic terrorism by our own government.

lol. So you only want to hold people accountable if they donât agree with you? Got it.

u/GoldieMcSpud 12h ago
If we're talking about holding people accountable, surely you'll want to investigate Trump's thousands of crimes since taking office? Why his net worth has increased by billions? The Epstein Files he keeps hiding?

This is harassment. They're looking into all of her family members but not for their refugee or immigration status. Oh, no, for hers.
The political motives of this campaign of institutional bullying targeting one individual and her family are blatant.
This is fascism.
