This should have been the end of sick putrid trumps political career

They laughed, clapped and howled with delight. That's when I knew how repulsive maga really was. They've only gotten worse. This is how nations fall. An entire political party morphing into a fascist movement, almost overnight. It's been eye-opening for sure. Many didn't care enough to keep them out of office. So here we are...

Many didn't care enough to keep them out of office.

88 mil eligible non-voters.

So now the world endures the voice of the voting majority.

4

u/PopBulky7023 27d ago

No one wants to seriously ask the uncomfortable questions of why so many people are disengaged.

3

u/Moist-Crows 26d ago

I used to not really care if someone voted but now I get upset when I hear that someone doesn’t vote. This could have been avoided had people gone out and voted for the future of their country

I'm going to have to disagree with the overnight part. It's been there for my entire lifetime (I'm in my 50s) and it was there for longer than that, like a festering wound. What Trump did was rip the mask off and just be openly vulgar about it. But make no mistake about it, the militarism, the jingoism, the belligerence, the religious fanaticism, the flagrant corruption, the racism, the xenophobia, the homophobia, the blatant disregard for ethics, the rampant greed, etc., it was all there before he ran for office. He took it to another level, I'll grant you that.

18

u/Appropriate_Yak_7209 27d ago

I’m a man in my 50s as well. I can definitely say that this rot has existed for my entire lifetime. Going back to the 70s, I saw racism, homophobia, and xenophobia in my community. Things shifted but that rot continued to hide in the shadows. I had honestly and naively thought that we were turning a corner in 2008. But sadly, the worst of our society came back out by 2016 and again in 2024.

So, I know we are capable of better. We are capable of learning and avoiding self-harming patterns. It isn’t a guarantee but nothing will improve without everyone’s participation.

I'm a Canadian with American cousins, I've always heard "fascism will come to the US draped in an American flag while holding up a bible"

9

u/CombinationOwn1604 26d ago

Yes. "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." And it's exactly what's happening now. It started with Reagan and The Heritage Foundation Mandate For Leadership. The exact same organization that wrote Project 2025 for the current Administration. But none of this is possible without Evangelicals, DJT'S base.

People under 35 probably have no memory of how bad it was with Bush. It was the same bigoted, hateful rhetoric where they were defending war crimes, demanding the removal of citizen’s rights, and the persecution of “brown people”.

Yeah, it’s masks off and turned up to 11 now but it was there, clear as day, 25 years ago.

That needs to be understood because “that day of celebration” that’s coming will not have changed or fixed anything. They will find their new leader and that guy will be not dumb and will be fully aware of what he can get away with.

I'm gonna go ahead and just blame reality TV for blurring reality. It makes no sense otherwise. I'm a lifelong Texan that has witnessed Flags and Banners go up throughout the Texas countryside with a New York slumlords name flying proudly. It's unreal. To put things in perspective. There was a popular TV commercial running for years that joked about hanging a cook for having New York salsa on the chuck wagon. It literally said "This stuff is from New York City- New York City, Get a rope". People in Texas don't like New York hot sauce, but they love this fucker enough to wear a stupid red hat everywhere they go. Make it make sense.

88

u/Smooth-Weekend-2314 27d ago

There were many, many points that should have been the end of this asshole.

The fact that "potato" ended Dan Quayle's presidential ambitions, or Howard Dean's happy scream.. just seems so quaint.

The right has been clamoring for somebody to end this country for decades. Now that they have their man, they're not letting go. When he takes his long-time-coming, well-deserved dirt nap, they're going to look for somebody much more evil.

I was having a conversation with my friend the other day. We were talking about Penguin from Batman and how Batman managed to show Penguin on video incriminating himself and how that ruined his political career.

The most unrealistic thing about the Batman comics is that, I feel. Today's society would have had Penguin supporters cheering him on despite the humiliation and incrimination. Today's society would literally vote for the Penguin because they think he's a "down-to-earth" guy.

27

u/Puzzleheaded_Gene909 27d ago

So many lines crossed.

9

9

Rupert Murdoch gave Trump unlimited airtime on Fox News to spew racist lies about Obama being an illegal Muslim immigrant. And their brainwashed viewer base ate the racist lies up and elected him president even after his lies were repeatedly proven false.

34

u/SnooEagles4121 27d ago

Every moron who said the Democrats didn’t “earn” their vote owns everything that clown has done.

20

u/TWB-MD 27d ago

Yep. Biden didn’t do enough for Gaza, you say? So your actions got you Trump, and an emboldened Bibi, and absolute destruction in Gaza. We have to make the best choice from the candidates available. Protest votes don’t work.

7

u/SweetPrism 27d ago edited 27d ago

Thank you, THANK YOU. Currently, I am more disgusted with protest voters and the ones who sat it out than I am with Trump voters. No matter what happens, at least 1/3 of the population will always vote red. That is a constant. However, the people who didn't bother to vote AT ALL because "wHoSe CaNdIdAtE wAs ShE?" can eat poo. In what reality was Trump going to be better than Kamala? No candidate has all the answers on how to end a holy war happening on the other side of the world between two religions, both of which are considered the minority in our country. Almost all expectations regarding her entire campaign were predicated on having a solution to something no one else in the political world has taken a stance on, except to support it.

3

u/galileo34i 27d ago

This is exactly the problem. 77 MILLION PEOPLE approved and voted in favor of him. Wouldn't matter how bad he is if no one supported him, but that is the current state of the nation. That means it doesn't matter if he disappears tomorrow because 77 million people will keep propelling forward what they have been sold. 8

u/GoodPractices325 27d ago

Or when he dissed John McCain being a POW

5

u/ZeusThunder369 27d ago

No - It should have been when he literally bragged about being able to fondle women's genitals against their consent and get away with it due to his position of power.

Or if not THAT, then making fun of a POW because they were captured. Something any Republican who has principles should have considered disqualifying.

One can nitpick the disabled reporter incident, given that Trump had made the gesture before not directed at a disabled person. But the above two have 0 explanations or defense.

3

u/Rastrick 27d ago

This was in 2008. This was his test(?) market, and he decided it was a success, and ran with it. He understood his racist base, because it is who he is also. He herded all of them together into a fearsome voter base. I would call MAGA (MoronsAreGoverningAmerica) single issue voters. It seems quite a bit of people are willfully ignorant of this.

5

u/richie65 27d ago

Trump is known to be a conman, money launderer, and a rip-off artist.

The media at-large has known this for decades.

The industry had to have intentionally not informed the public about this, back in 2015.

Their billionaire owners were all well aware of the windfalls headed their way if / when they could get someone like Trump into the White House.

It should have ended in 2015.

The Fifth estate, and the billionaire class did this to us intentionally.

3

u/Appropriate_Yak_7209 27d ago

I was deeply concerned by his accusation of Mexico sending their “rapists” and when he tweeted a quote from Mussolini. My suspicions were confirmed when he refused to denounce white supremacists.

But my observations are routinely ignored.

Trump was elected because of the way he behaves, not in spite of it. His voters like that. They want to be hurtful. More than anything, they want to be allowed to use violence against people who are weaker than them - first psychological violence through mockery, insults, and so on, but eventually physical violence too.

They want to go back to a time when America was supposedly still “great” -sometime in the ’50s or ’60s. Back when people of color could be discriminated against with impunity. When women were still expected to stay in the kitchen. When nobody questioned driving the biggest, most gas-guzzling cars. When no one was "woke." They simply want to feel superior again.

Or after that interview with Billy Bush in 2005 where he talked about grabbing women by the pussy, which is something MAGA women apparently don’t mind.

3

u/Girly_Q_Buttons 27d ago

Or about a thousand other things

3

u/lookeylou2 27d ago

Or when he said he liked hero’s that didn’t get captured! Or when …….. Or when …… there are som many to choose from!

3

u/Past-Article-4879 27d ago

Yep. For me was when he mocked a war hero.

3

u/No-Guard-7003 27d ago

So do I. I still believe it should have ended with that interview on Access Hollywood, too. 😡

3

u/jeanine7377 27d ago

I totally agree

3

u/dirtskirtshirt 27d ago

That’s one of the better examples of why people who voted for him are f’ing a$$holes

3

u/InspectionIll5714 27d ago

Trump and COVID a perfect storm. Look at online spaces today. Especially fandom spaces. People have gotten off the handle. It's acceptable because of behaviors like Donald. Isolation too

3

u/Bittermare 27d ago

Absolutely

3

u/--Andre-The-Giant-- 27d ago

Canadian here. When I saw him do that, I was almost glad. This big fucking idiot had finally punched down too hard.

Then you guys elected him. There are great American people, but the majority of the nation are just broken, hateful monsters with someone to blame for their own lack of (insert whichever admirable character trait you'd like).

3

u/bEErgrEMlin12 27d ago

Or the grabbing by the pussy

3

u/thisusernameistemp 27d ago

Should’ve been discounted after leading the charge on the innocent Central Park 5… and being a failed business man

3

u/Hmonster1 27d ago

Or did unspeakable things to minors

3

u/OhTheHueManatee 27d ago

I think even before that when be insisted Obama was born in Kenya with no evidence. So Obama showed his birth certificate. Then Trump said the birth certificate was a fraud again with no evidence. In an ideal world that should have been enough for everyone to say "shut the Hell up man. Yeah some of us don't like Obama either but stick the facts man. Expecting us to believe your BS is insulting." But nope people ate it up. The mocking a disabled reporter was because he insisted that Muslims were celebrating in the street in New Jersey on 9/11. The reporter said there was no evidence of that so Trump mocked his disability. Again people should have walked out but they loved him for it.

3

u/Cheese_on_it 27d ago

My moment were the comments on McCain.

I didn't even care about McCain nor the military... but wtf, I thought Republicans did.

Whatever.

3

u/EeyoresTail5451 27d ago

It should’ve ended when he admitted to telling teenaged beauty contestants that his vote could be earned

3

u/Federal_Challenge416 26d ago

Or john mccain. At that point we should have recieved the message. This movement is about nothing except bigotry and revenge. Revenge for what is the interesting part.

3

u/dateinfj 26d ago

The US media failed to do their job! They are still allowing this diaper-wearing ped0 to say and do whatever the fuhk he wants with zero consequences.

3

u/ur-in-here-with-me 26d ago

Father of disabled son. That this didn’t end his candidacy tells me all I need to know about humanity and particularly MAGA voters.

I have friends and colleagues who voted for him. When I put this to them, they have nothing…we both know the truth, which is they simply don’t care.

3

u/MotherVehicle9481 26d ago

The Republican Party has no morals they don’t care about this country. It’s all a grift for profit..

3

u/Jaybacker 26d ago

Of course, but the thing is that that is what his base likes about him. He's a bully and most of them are bullies too, but they'll never see it that way. They just say he's "telling it like it is" "owning" or even "putting them in their place".

3

u/MartynAndJasper 26d ago

It should have ended by Fred wearing a condom

3

u/Clean_Collection_674 26d ago

I know that reporter. He wasn’t surprised by Trump mocking him. He knows Trump very well. Trump has always been a hideous excuse for a human.

3

u/BanjoFiddleLaser 26d ago

Between that, the comment about shooting someone in the middle of the street, and “grab her by the pussy” this should have been over a million times. He crapped the bed on Covid and they still voted for him. He incited an insurrection and they still voted for him. I don’t think anything could stop them from voting for him again

3

u/OPGuest 26d ago

The Central Park Five add should have killed any political support.

3

u/twkellen 26d ago

I would have thought ‘convicted felon’ was enough

3

u/Future-Outcome6826 26d ago

Or when he mocked a war hero for getting captured behind enemy lines, or when he tried to stage an insurrection, or when he purposely falsified bank records to hide the hush money payments he made to a pornstar he fucked while his wife was pregnant, or when he bragged about sexually assaulting women, or when he was found liable for rape in civil court, etc, etc.

We are truly living in an episode of the twilight zone that just keeps going and going and going…

3

u/Witty-Structure-2801 26d ago

How about…. grab them by the *****. The most deplorable disgusting human being to ever walk the face of this earth or close to it.

3

u/Hour-Middle1994 26d ago

How about when this spoon fed bitch said “he is not a hero. He is a hero because he was captured? I like people who weren’t captured.” Speaking of John McCain who was a pilot shot down during the Vietnam War. He spent over 5 years as a prisoner of war and tortured. How any veteran ever voted for trump after that statement is beyond me. It’s like wtf? He had any control of his plane being shot down? Some candy ass living in opulence like trump should not have politically survived that.

Yes. I’ve said this always.

2

u/illDiablo69 27d ago

It should've all ended when we found out Trump grabs women by the pussy.

2

u/atomicpioneer42 27d ago

It should have ended the moment he came down the escalator.

2

u/whereisbeezy Prefer Coffee But Fill My Cup 🫖 27d ago

It shouldn't have gotten that far

2

u/hjeff51 27d ago

Should have ended at Stormy Daniels. Especially with all the pearl clutching that voter base used to have.

2

u/hskfmn 27d ago

Or insulted John McCain for his service in Vietnam (having dodged the draft himself).

2

u/cybrg0dess 27d ago

Long before this! He has always been a pile of 💩.

2

u/larkfield2655 27d ago

There’s no mystery. He’s a reflection of the people. An unpleasant truth.

2

u/justinsayin 27d ago

I still can't believe the military didn't arrest him on the evening of Jan 6th.

2

u/Kat_Schrodinger1 27d ago

But her emails. 2016

But his son's emails. 2020

But mUh SiNgLe IsSuE. 2024

2

u/AFriendlyAesthete 27d ago

His supporters aren't holding their noses, they like this bullshit.

2

u/GiraffeOld 27d ago

Boasting about grabbing by the p**** should have ended it.

2

u/Purple-Relation-2938 27d ago

You’re right, it should have so ended, but that assumes that Republicans have any self-respect, integrity, or courage.

2

u/BeGoodtoOthersPlease 27d ago

Except to Republican cruelty = strength.

2

u/DarkGamer 27d ago

It should have been over the moment he descended the golden escalator and called all immigrants rapists.

2

u/LemonLander 27d ago

It should never have started. "Grab 'em by the pussy" was enough to disqualify him.

2

u/GrimlyUnlit 27d ago

The “locker room talk” is what got me, initially. The mocking of someone with special needs was hardly a surprise. It’s a shitbag. It hates everyone but itself. Not a huge or shocking revelation.

2

u/opticzar 27d ago

It should have. This was literally the moment. Unfortunately voters were so fed up with career politicians that they thought someone "more like a common man" was the way to go and overlooked personal failings.

2

u/Fragrant-Concert2848 27d ago

Now whos the frigging freak
