I got an incredible job offer but after the interview process I'm skeptical as to their legitimacy. Anyone know of a job scam? They said they are sending a check that iI opportunity to put in my bank then pay a 3rd party vendor for an automated timing tracker.... I meant Ameriprise

I have over 5 years experience working a carpenter for theatrical production (3 of which I was the master carpenter/ technical director). Also basic experience with lighting and audio for theatrical production.
Any tips on getting in contact with the theaters? Are there maybe some scenic construction shops in town I haven't heard of yet?
I'd also be willing to just focus on my woodworking and even take an apprenticeship if that was around but I'm not sure where to look?

I grew up in Portland, moved away, started a career, and now I'm planning on moving back home soon to take care of my aging parents. I'm a commercial plumber by trade, 8 years experience, however since I didn't complete an Oregon apprenticeship I can't get my Oregon license without doing another apprenticeship.
I'm looking for any job where I can apply my experience of building and system knowledge, managerial/leadership experience, attention to detail and customer service. I'm clean cut, very personable and a quick study. I'm technologically savvy, I run Linux on my home computer, and I'm able to teach my older peers how to utilize their smartphones, email, etc.
I also have 10+ years experience in culinary setting, both in the kitchen and front of house. Cooking is my hobby and passion, I regularly cook for 50+ people for large family functions.
Looking for $60k/year and not afraid of hard work!
