If Iyana Martín can reach her ceiling for the Portland Fire she can end up being a Becky Hammon 2.0 in the WNBA. The key will be her shooting being elite. Becky Hammon at her peak was 2nd in MVP voting. (Reposted because of typo lol)

There's plenty of room on both the Portland State and University of Portland bandwagons this season. Both campuses are way closer than Corvallis and Eugene and, I would argue, the games are more fun.

This will be my third season as a STH for the Pilot women. Tickets are VERY reasonably priced and the team is amazing. With conference realignment this season, they have a real chance to win the WCC and make it to March Madness.

I'm a dad of three girls and coach youth basketball, so I was pretty excited when I heard the Fire was coming back. I figured maybe our girls would get some chances to meet players or be part of something. We've gotten tickets from other pro teams before, usually way up in the nosebleeds and we're always thankful but sometimes you feel like an afterthought/seat fillers. SEI kids got to sit in club seats this year and it was so cool to watch with my girls because of the Fire gifting.

An I gotta give the Fire some credit. I was at the SEI event where they gave out $10,000 in scholarships, and I was really impressed. I can't remember the names of the two women from the Fire but they were talking to everybody, joking with the kids and just being genuinely niceb professional but you could tell they understood the assignment ,the kids.

My daughter didn't get picked for a scholarship, but she still left feeling pretty special. That meant a lot to me as her dad. I also saw someone mention that they showed up at Benson after the incident and didn't make a big social media thing out of it. This post is ours not theirs I haven't seen one from them and I respect that. I know they're a new team and can't do everything, but it's nice seeing people actually show up for our kids. Hope they keep it going. Portland needs more of that.

I’m a season ticket holder and seriously missing the Fire. Missing the community, the fun, the players. I know blazer games aren’t the same environment but I’m curious if it’s worth the money to buy single game tickets. I just want to feel something again (lol).

Shoutout back to the basket on hawthorne. Just scored a practice jersey from the early seasons of the fire and am so stoked about it. It even had a name tag of a player still on it. Anybody know who it is? (Forgive me for not knowing, this jersey was probably made the year I was born). Also scored some trading cards of old fire players and of course couldn’t leave without an emily engstler candle. So stoked on this

I popped open SeatGeek today for Thorns tickets and saw that Blazers tickets are in there. I thought that Moda Center was a Ticketmaster only venue, and that’s why we couldn’t get free MAX tickets w our Fire tickets, because Ticketmaster wouldn’t split out the dollar per ticket that SeatGeek does to cover this. Does this mean we might get free MAX with our Fire tickets next year?

Does anyone else think that the Fire have too many colors in their branding? It seems like they really preferred the black jerseys and barely wore the white ones. Kinda seems weird to have pink and glacier blue in the logo and branding (see Rose), but neither color is on the jerseys. Makes it hard to have clearly identifiable merch or to do a "[insert color]-out" of the stadium.

I know we love our girls but (1) we need some more elite defense physicality and experience to the mix. (2) I also think adding another experienced guard could help relieve Carla and Iyana a little. They are superstars for sure but having a vet on their side could help.
