I've seen a lot of "Well, they raided trump's house, so fair is fair!" comments, ignoring that it wasn't his house, he intentionally took them knowing it was illegal, they asked nicely for the documents back for months despite having them being a serious federal crime, he lied under penalty of perjury and said he returned them all, then tried to destroy evidence he had them, then only was searched when they found evidence the highly classified documents were stored in the shitter and he was showing them to rando people and making photocopies.
Meanwhile, Ilhan...may have had documents her father filled out thirty plus years ago when she was a child refugee and he might have written something down wrong?
Yeah, totally the same situation.

You have way too much time trying to make sense of a scenario Republicans have already made up their collective mind on

Don't forget she's also not a white faux Christian! MAGA doesn't like you if you aren't white and toe the party/company line.

Don't forget that she's a Somali American from Minnesota which is a community Trump and MAGA love to villainize.

I've also seen "for no reason" added, so they're in la la land.

My favorite claims were:
"The indictment against Trump didn't list a single crime he committed!" That's literally the only thing an indictment is.
"His lawyers weren't allowed to present evidence or speak in court or question witnesses." Me: "Here's the link to the evidence they submitted and the transcripts of what was said." Them: "I'm not going to read your evidence. I know what really happened!"
"There wasn't a hearing in the Colorado case! They just decided it based on the complaint!" Me: "The first paragraph of the first page of the decision details the hearings that they had." Them: "Well, he wasn't allowed to have lawyers for it!" Me: "The second paragraph of the first page details what lawyers of his were there."

Reading JD Vance’s comments about her pissed me off. He insists the investigation should be driven by facts, then takes a personal shot at her supposed hatred of America. Real reassuring display of impartiality from the couch fucking hillbilly.

Couch fucking PSEUDO hillbilly. Don’t forget that lying dipshit went to Yale law school, he’s 100% a fraud

And his mom was a nurse and stole her patients' medications to abuse and sell.

He’s trying to pass her hating America as just an objective, evidence-based fact. Not a personal shot at all.
Keep in mind, JD doesn’t believe any of this shit. The vast majority of Republicans don’t either. But their constituents do, and that keeps them in power.

Far as I'm concerned this is just precedent to investigate and raid them all the second trump is out
All of this is going to come back to bite them

No political figure should be immune from investigation. That's not the issue. The reason for the investigation matters, though. And how the investigation is carried out. And what parts of it are made public and when. Here are 3 examples. Which one looks different?
- Hillary Clinton had a private email server, the same as the secretary of state that preceded her. Nothing of substance pertaining to national security was stored on it. The investigation was carried out under high levels of public scrutiny, including an announcement from the FBI director reminding everyone about it just 11 days before the presidential election she was running in.
- Ilhan Omar was publicly "raided" by ICE ~3 weeks before an election she is a candidate in. The administration hasn't even made a decent excuse as to why other than rumors it might be related to some paperwork her parents filed when she was an 8-year-old kid.
- Trump's Russia collusion, fraud, and hush money payment investigations were all kept quiet while he campaigned, only coming to light after he was elected president in 2016. Same with the 2020 election, where he had been hoarding beyond top secret documents at his spy infested golf resort for who knows how long. We only found out after the fact. And I might add, he was guilty as fuck of all the crimes he's been investigated for and then some. Republicans in congress , SCOTUS, and trump's own federal judge appointees simply refuse to hold him accountable. They don't care how many crimes he commits.

Their only principle is “in-group, out-group.” Whatever serves the former and harms the latter at any given moment is OK. Hypocrisy is immaterial.

Like Any Tyranny so long as you don't do anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about in society.....until one fine day you wake up and find what you do has become what's wrong with society.

I dont care what side of the isle they're on, if they break the law they should be held accountable. The problem is that the sentiment is not mutual

MAGA doesn't sweat these kinds of decisions. Omar looks funny so therefore she deserves anything that happens to her.

They don't actually believe in the morality of actions, only the morality of sides.

Is all a political show. They know the case is going to be dropped but not until after the elections so this will really make Democrats look like the enemy.

Meme is super horribly wrong.
If they had the principles or self awareness to give two shits about blatant hypocrisy, they wouldn’t be republicans and we wouldn’t have taken the first step down this god awful timeline.

It ironic because both are probably wrong. It’s not tyranny to investigate someone for legitimate reasons. I haven’t heard legitimate reasons for this particular investigation.

I think they’ve proven they don’t care about tyranny :/
