So uhhh, I failed the shiny poipole. 602 resets in and I was getting into the groove. I had a long stream to keep me entertained, snacks and a comfy chair - all of which contributed. You know that feeling when your mind is screaming something but your body is on autopilot? Yeah. I noticed the shiny, got really excited. My body froze for like 2 seconds, so I technically had long enough time to react but for some reason my hands pressed reset. And now, that poipole is gone and I need to get a new one.

This is the third shiny I was chasing and failed for some reason. The original was my shiny groudon, which was also my first ever "true hunt". I had no pokemon dedicated to catching except for false swipe on my decidueye. I had calculated all the damage rolls for the groudon from each of my moves, had a spreadsheet to keep track of the groudon's move uses. . . . all of which was for naught when I misclicked leaf blade in stead of false swipe, killing them instantly. I did eventually get the groudon back, but it took an extra 2 months off my life as it was full odds. Coincidently, that groudon was also ridiculously early. . . .

The 2nd shiny fail was buzzwole, who I reset out of muscle memory as well. I really have no excuse, when I've gotten shinies earlier than 602 and have lost them similarly.

My most recent screw up was during my Masuda hunt for a H-Sneasel. I was doing laps outside the normal city and spotted a shiny voltorb. However, since I was supposed to be doing laps INSIDE the city, my mind auto turned miraidon back in and it despawned. I would show you the clip but I can't upload video. It was really funny though.

Anyways, the goal is just a reminder to all my fellow hunters to stay alert. You know how "Don't drink and drive" is a common phrase? Sleepiness can impair your reaction speed and lead to the above scenarios . . . So don't hunt when you should be sleeping.

Good morning party people!

After spending an unhealthy amount of time trading in the GTS, I've come to the realization that a large number of legendaries/shinies in my collection are from accounts like PKMFans etc, and can't be traded or used on Champions. This begs the question:

Is there a sensible move for these creatures? Do I release them before they get trapped in bad eggs, or is there a salvation for them?

I'm fairly sure I know the answer (giving each the Old Yeller treatment), but I figured I'd ask people who actually know what they're doing.

I heard physical 3DS games will someday delete themselves and I’m the kind of person to keep games and consoles for 30+ years in good condition. So far I’m leaning towards Ultra Sun.

And if none, then convince me its a good idea to get Pokemon Home.
