Announcement FragPunk S6C1 FAQ

Q1. Why have Shard Clash updates become lighter lately?

We understand that recent updates may have felt lighter than expected, and the concerns this may caused. The reason is straightforward: the team has been heavily focused on developing the largest gameplay expansion we’ve created since launch, with the goal of bringing fresh challenges and new experiences to all players.

That said, this does not mean we are stepping away from Shard Clash. We remain committed to supporting and improving the mode, with ongoing balance adjustments and optimizations planned. A brand-new Shard Clash map is also currently in development.

We appreciate your understanding, patience and support as the team works on what’s coming next. We look forward to sharing more about the exciting new content with you soon. Please stay tuned!

Q2. Will you continue to update Shard Clash?

Absolutely. Shard Clash is not being put aside. While the new gameplay experience is under development, we will keep listening to community feedback on Shard Clash, making improvements, and supporting community tournaments and creator activities. The next Shard Clash map, codenamed "The Deeps," DEX's home, is currently in development. We will announce details and timing through official channels when it’s ready.

Q3. Why are you creating a new experience?

Shard Clash is designed for fast, short matches, which has its strengths but also limits the players' access to the broader Shardverse. The new experience aims to provide players with a fresh way to engage with these stories, to explore the world in greater depth, and to experience new challenges and enjoyment along the way.

Q4. When will the new experience launch?

Development is progressing steadily and we're already preparing for its Early Access launch. We'll share the specific timing through our official channels soon - please stay tuned.

Q5. Will the new experience split Shard Clash's player base?

The new experience is an expansion of the Shardverse, not a replacement for Shard Clash. We are committed to supporting both experiences in the long term, and Shard Clash will continue to receive updates and community support alongside the new experience. Together, these two experiences will broaden the player base, attracting more players to the Shardverse and enhancing the experience for current players.

Q6. What about my current skins — will they work in the new experience?

We know players have questions about how cosmetics and other assets will work in the new experience. We will provide more information on cosmetics and asset carryover in future Q&A. Please keep an eye on our official channels for further updates.

Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s fun to imagine what our favorite Lancers would wear for the occasion. Would they go for something spooky, a funny costume, or a look that perfectly matches their personality?

If you could choose a Halloween costume for any Lancer, who would you pick and what would they wear? Drop your ideas in the comments below!

I was thinking about potential Halloween skins, and a Calamity x Roku crossover would go so hard. Their aesthetics match perfectly IMO. What do you all think? What would the skin look like?

FragPunk Needs Fewer Promises and More Solutions

How is it possible for an account with barely 35 hours of playtime to have stats like these?

  • Rank: AS 5
  • MVPs: 74
  • K/D/A: 3.2
  • Win rate: 73.7%

Honestly, these stats seem unrealistic to me. How can someone reach AS 5 in less than 40 hours? The screenshot alone doesn't prove that this player is cheating. They could be an experienced player using a secondary account (a smurf), or someone using external cheats to climb the ranks quickly. That's exactly why accounts like this deserve a serious review.

I've been playing FragPunk since the beta, and after all this time, I believe there are several things the developers should prioritize instead of focusing on announcing new game modes that promise a great experience without addressing the problems the community has been pointing out for a long time.

1. Improve the anti-cheat system

The anti-cheat system needs to keep evolving. Cheating isn't going to disappear completely, especially when selling cheats is a profitable business and these tools are becoming increasingly accessible to those who want to use them.

That's why it's not enough to detect players who cheat blatantly. The game also needs better detection of suspicious behavior, proper investigations into accounts with unusual statistics, and measures that make it harder for banned players to come back and do the same thing again.

2. Seriously restructure the ranked system

I'm currently AS 1, and although I enjoy the game, I hate having to deal with cheaters. Sometimes I end up waiting until the weekend to play ranked, trying to avoid long losing streaks that can ruin the competitive experience.

Why do I keep bringing this up? Because after so many hours playing, I believe the current system needs more effective measures to prevent players using unauthorized tools from returning to ranked as if nothing happened after being penalized. One measure I'd suggest is exploring hardware-based restrictions to make it harder for repeat offenders to return, provided they can be implemented reliably and with safeguards against unfair bans.

But that's not the only problem. The ranked progression system itself makes climbing the ladder far too easy.

Here are some changes I'd suggest:

  • Season resets: Players who finish in Master, AS, or MasterPunk should be reset to Gold at the highest, meaning they shouldn't start the new season above Gold. Players in lower ranks should reset according to their level, going as low as Bronze when appropriate.
  • Award fewer ranked points: Climbing should require consistency and skill, not simply accumulating points too easily.
  • Eight-round matches instead of six: I believe longer matches would allow strategies to develop more naturally and give decisions throughout each match greater weight.
  • A more balanced progression system: Reaching the highest ranks should require time, learning, and genuine experience.

How would these changes help? In several ways.

First, they would make it harder for smurf accounts and suspicious accounts to climb at an absurd pace. Second, they would help new players find matches at their actual skill level and gradually learn the maps, cards, mechanics, and character abilities.

I've encountered Diamond players who still don't know how to use their abilities properly, don't understand important parts of the maps, or fail to take advantage of secondary weapons. There are also strategic aspects that require experience: knowing what to do after planting the objective, managing the clock, anticipating rotations, and understanding when to play aggressively or defensively.

All of this is part of competitive learning, and it shouldn't be overshadowed by a progression system that allows players to climb too quickly.

On top of that, a season lasts approximately 110 days and is divided into two chapters, meaning two battle passes. Does it really make sense for an account to reach AS 5 in just 35 hours when we're talking about one of the highest ranks? How is the system supposed to distinguish between a genuinely experienced player, a smurf, and someone using cheats?

The account shown in the screenshot could belong to an exceptionally skilled player, but it also raises questions that shouldn't be ignored. That's exactly why the game needs a stronger ranked system.

3. Actually listen to the community

This is another major problem. There are plenty of players who want to see FragPunk grow, but to make that happen, the developers need to listen to the people who have supported the game for months or even years.

We're still dealing with issues involving ping, hit registration, and weapon balance. There are also players who have been waiting weeks for new items in the shop, such as skins. Personally, I hope we at least get something interesting for Halloween. Otherwise, it will be another disappointment.

If the community repeatedly points out that a particular weapon needs adjustments, why is it so difficult to address the problem and communicate what's being done about it?

It's not all about adding new content. The developers also need to maintain existing content, fix problems, and clearly explain their priorities.

They should be more active on social media and official channels, communicate with players, and work with YouTubers and streamers who genuinely enjoy the game and want to help it grow. But to earn that kind of support and rebuild trust, they first need to demonstrate that they're willing to address the problems the community has been reporting for so long.

I also think it's important to distinguish between permanent game modes and temporary events. Constantly announcing new experiences that eventually disappear is no substitute for improving the core aspects of the game, especially when the community has been asking for specific changes for so long.

FragPunk has enormous potential, but that potential will go to waste if the developers continue to ignore the concerns of their own players.

I'm not writing this because I want to see the game fail. Quite the opposite: I've been playing since

Tips & Tricks Who counters zephyr?

To start off I’m new to the game still and the main character I play is calamity cause I feel like she suits my play style well. But I am genuinely sick and tired of getting killed by zephyr just cause I can’t hear her within all the shooting and chaos.

So if anyone knows a character that counters her super well I would appreciate it. I have a lancer statue left so I can get any character

Discussion LOTS OF MVPs, LITTLE MERIT

Thumbnail

As a player with over 1,000 hours in FragPunk, I find this honestly a little disappointing. Event modes are fine for what they’re meant to be: giving players a chance to complete challenges and claim their event rewards. But people are taking advantage of them, and I have two clear examples of this.

The fact that I have to blur their names says a lot about how much protection exploiters seem to get. My post was removed just for exposing two people I believe are abusing bot-filled lobbies to farm MVPs.

I genuinely think this game is incredible, but the developers need to seriously consider doing more than just releasing event modes. All this does is give players who use unfair advantages another way to farm MVPs, which makes the whole achievement feel meaningless. Maybe some people are doing it to make those accounts more appealing for illegal account sales. I honestly don't know, but something needs to change.

If the developers genuinely want to improve this game, they need to get their act together, address their poor management of the game, and consider a proper relaunch. That means listening to the community, fixing bugs, improving the servers, resolving hit-registration issues, and giving players a healthy, genuinely competitive environment.

FragPunk has so much potential, but potential means nothing if the developers keep ignoring the problems that are driving players away. We need meaningful improvements, not just more events.

Discussion Trying to get into fragpunk is miserable

TLDR: Can’t find any games in lower ranks because Fragpunk divides the playerbase and makes it hard to lose RP in low ranks.

Recently i came back to this game cause my friend told me he was playing it, and when i played it before i never got too into ranked. Trying to queue for ranked now is just impossible, especially since they separate the players above diamond from the ones below diamond and make it so hard to lose RP if you are below diamond because of a million protections. So basically what happens with a small player base is you just push everyone out of plat and below into diamond eventually and any new player will genuinely struggle to find anyone to play with because there are such few people in the lower ranks. The cherry on top is that i’m honestly not even supposed to be in this rank too, like i have a lot of background in competitive FPS so i always have the most points in my team and even gone on 10 game win streak and they only give me around 39 points… After winning 10 games in a row clearly im not supposed to be here but im not gonna act all spoilt i dont mind the grind i really dont but when im sitting in multiple hour long queues, getting on the game and only squeezing out 1 or 2 games in a 2 hour game session it just feels like a huge waste of time. Worst part is that the only reason i got those games is because it was the weekend. During the week i hop on the game, wait for an hour or two and leave with a bitter taste in my mouth after not getting to play and just giving up. The only reason im still trying is because i’ve convinced myself it gets better when i get to diamond and i want to play with my friend who is at master and tells me the queue times aren’t that bad up there but its such a bad gaming experience when I can’t find any games and god forbid i lose a game it makes it that much more frustrating cause i wasted an hour of my life just to lose progress.

Im really worried about the week ahead because i have a break from school this week but if i can only find games on the weekend why waste my break just queueing up? I also don’t just queue at super weird times, i have searched up how to improve queue times, i play cross platform console + pc with Auto servers so sometimes i have bad ping (i don’t mind) and i can’t find anything. As i type this i am in a 1 hr queue and i was on earlier today queued for about an hour and a half found nothing and left so im creeping up on 3 hours of queue time with no game yet today.

As much as this is a rant, im sure someone else has mentioned this in this subreddit but the next time you wonder why fragpunk gets no new players this is why.
