A Note on Government Planes

For now, government planes flown by various politicians will continue to be allowed, but the political comments need to be toned way down.

Whether you like the people flying them or not, those planes belong to the federal government (in the case of the US) and not to any individual who currently occupies a position of power. I'd hate to get to the point where I have to remove or ban pictures of Air Force One/Marine One etc or the planes of other governments.

Inherently political posts will be removed. Whether you like Trump and Vance or not, the planes don't belong to them.

Shot with RX10IV and ND8 at 1/20s. The runway closed earlier than planned putting several B747s and other nice birds on the parallel. Had some difficulty to correct the colours, I guess I still have some to learn there..

I TOOK A GOOD PHOTO

I'm really happy because I don't have like a super good photo of any plane but just look at this. I'm 14. I mean, the shade of the sun's light, the blurred background, the clarity and focus! I'm not trying to brag or whatever, I'm just really proud and happy. I have an iPhone 14 but it's really bad for quality so I borrowed my mom's phone (iPhone 16 pro max) and the quality was so clear and calm. This was at SAN, flight LH 467, D-AIXV, Tuesday, October 13, 2026, 5:53 PM PDT. I MEAN JUST LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL LUFTHANSA AIRBUS A350-900. So happy it came out so good. I don't know anyone to show this to so I signed into Reddit just to post this! Enjoy! :D

It was a very fun spotting day, a bit more traffic than usual though (two planes active at one) And the F-16 was a surprise, I knew they flew there the day before I went, but I thought they left. Turns out they didn’t, obviously

FRA - Who else is flying LH 418 on Oct 18???

On October 18, 2026, Lufthansa LH418, the legendary Airbus A340-600, will make its final departure from Frankfurt (FRA) to Washington Dulles (IAD).
Four engines. One legendary aircraft. Countless memories.
And guess what? I’ll be on this historic farewell flight!
To make this occasion even more special, I’ve created commemorative keepsake boarding passes in Lufthansa colors to celebrate the A340-600 and its incredible legacy.
If you’re on LH418 and happen to spot me, come say hello and ask me for one! I’d love to share a little piece of aviation history with fellow enthusiasts.
Who else is joining me on October 18? Let’s give this four-engine legend the farewell she deserves!

These were taken on Oct 11th at sundown. Location is 40.4700447, -3.5211953, near Paracuellos. There is a dirt road there you can take and then its up a hill past some fields. You can get some gorgeous shots of double landings and landings with the Madrid skyline as a backdrop. Taken with a very basic Canon 100D and a cheap telephoto lens.

I love when DFW is North flow and a lot of planes fly over my house. ATC routed this 747 right over my block.

Has anyone here tried LightCraft for photo editing?

Hello everyone! I recently discovered Lightcraft, and I'm curious if anyone here has ever used Lightcraft for plane spotting photographs. Is anyone familiar with how Lightcraft does things such as color correction, noise reduction, or lighting from the sun on aircraft fuselages as compared to Lightroom? (Photo edited on LightCraft and used as a sample)

I built a free live flight tracker for India, plus lounge guides and a "does my card get me in?" checker: vimana.live

I've been building VIMANA

https://vimana.live/

an India-focused flight tracker that also helps with the airport part of the trip. It's free, there's no login and no ads.

**Live flights**

* About 300 aircraft over India at any moment, from community ADS-B receivers (adsb.lol + adsb.fi)
* Tap a plane for its route, ETA, aircraft type and punctuality, or open it in 3D and follow it in to land (sun-lit terrain, real stars at night, lit runways)
