the heck is going on with pinterest???! my feed is literally ONLY ads..
like im not even exaggerating. swiped for 30 seconds and only saw one actual post.

A new update I suppose... they literally got rid of pinterest's iconic little window. Saving pins is a horribly infuriating task now. Instead of the circular wheel that appears, now its a stack of buttons. I don't like it at all.

I used be able to hold down and move to the pin symbol to quickly and easily pin things and now it makes me hold it down a separately select a button from a drop down menu which is inconvenient.

Its like every week I log onto Pinterest to find they changed something that wasn't broken to make it inconvenient. I don't know why the people at Pinterest are seemingly trying to make Pinterest unusable.

I've also seen other people complain about their recommendations randomly changing and I experience this periodically as well. I weirdly get random kpop men, AI stuff when I've turned it off in settings and lots of random decor like boho stuff that I don't search for or save.

Why are they doing this genuinely?

pintrest community: "can you fix the bugs, glitches, mass banning, randomly deleted accounts, and AI generated content ratio?"

pinterest: "uhhhhh... well... look at this thing we did!!" *changes the whole app to be unusable and an inconvenience to regular users via new ugly ass ui*

I just went to “request a copy of the info Pinterest collects about you” and the pdf with the results was empty??? I’ve been using Pinterest forever for years with boards. However, I do not post. I assumed having boards and a catered algorithm would cause me to have enough consumer information for them to sell.

Can someone help me understand this better? I’m trying to be more educated on my exposure through minuet description and privacy.

i’ve heard that if you add certain problematic pins it can stop you from adding more but it hasnt given me the “there are no more ideas for this board” error until earlier today and i deleted all the ones i added today in an attempt to fix it but nothing worked. please help i love this board 💔

I use pinterest for 1 thing and 1 thing only. Art references. All my saved pictures are sketches, artworks and pictures of outfits or writing tips.

And for SOME REASON, my home feed are memes in spanish(I dont speak spanish), cooking recipes, AI cats, inspirational quotes and senseless pictures about women.

How do I make it stop?

No matter how many times I click "see less" it just doesnt care

So, on my laptop I made a board for dolls (I am trying to get in to collecting and comissioning them and wanted to get inspo) and I made a board, added a few of the recommended pins, then went and added a bunch of other pins of dolls I had from another board. For some reason, when I'm on the web it will list that there are 70+ pins on the board, but will only load 13, those 13 being split between the ones I added from the recommendation and from more ideas but not the other 60+ from another board. However, on my mobile app on my phone, it will show all of them. When I first saw it, it was very stressful because I thought I had just lost all those pins, and since Pinterest has no way to submit a ticket like other websites, I don't know what to do. Is anyone else having this problem of pins not loading on the website but loading in the app?

occasionally, my more ideas tab goes away for some of my boards. but recently, NONE of my boards have the more ideas tab. now instead there’s this ai slop ‘compare’ button. i have a lot of boards, and it’s so much easier to press the more ideas tab rather than individually pinning things. i’m really not sure if this lack of more ideas is only for me, or if i’m missing how to find it!

I tried turning off and on the wi-fi and updating the app. It worked at first but now nothing works. Yet it's fine on my phone for some reason. How do I fix it? (I'm on an iPad and it's the mobile app)

So, I’ve been wanting to post about this for a while, but as it’s a sensitive subject I want to be careful about how to approach this peculiar phenomenon on Pinterest that has been going on for years and amassed millions of views despite the strange behaviour — and yet, nobody ever seems to have flagged this.

If you’ve ever browsed Pinterest in the last few years, you may have encountered content under the name Jennifer Merrill. I certainly have, but for those who haven’t, let me explain. The profile in question is called Jen M - Legendary Goddess of Fashion and Style, and for the last many years, this account has posted daily sometimes up to 50+ images a day, in addition to saving multiple content from other users. The main bulk of their content appears to be AI-generated images purportedly of an ’actress and model’ named Jennifer Merrill (some of the images I have tested and carry certain AI watermarks like the openAI watermark). Now here’s the odd thing: the account appears to be taking images of men, women and even children (girls and boys) and superimposing bf the same adult woman’s face onto them, then posting them on their own profile.

And here’s where it gets even stranger. If you google the name ‘Jennifer Merrill’, you can find an IMDB page for an actual actress/model named ‘Jennifer Merrill’, which interestingly lacks a photograph of the actress. From the profile page, it seems that this actress has appeared in relatively few tv shows/movies (certainly not popular content) and it seems unlikely that the real actress would set up a Pinterest profile like this (though not impossible, certainly).

However, despite the bot-like behaviour of the account, I believe that there is credible evidence that the profile is ran (or at least moderated) by a real human being.

If you go on YouTube and search the name ‘Jennifer Merrill’, you will quickly find a youtube channel from 20 years ago, which contains many similarities to/references in the Pinterest page. First of all, the YouTube channel handle is @jenmerrill. The Pinterest account is called Jen M - Legendary Goddess of Fashion and Style, using a very similar contraction of the name in both profiles. But note also the list of music and the artists: many of those are connected also to the Pinterest account. For example, videos in this YouTube channel cites a Marilyn Monroe song — and if you sift through the Pinterest Merrill account, you can find pins related to or containing the image of Marilyn Monroe. They also mention in the YouTube video description, the Aerosmith song Dude looks like a lady — on the ‘Jennifer Merrill’ Pinterest account, there is an entire board named Jen’s a boy: Dude looks like a lady. Furthermore, if you look at the Pinterest account’s previous profile picture using the wayback machine (the profile pic was changed a few weeks ago) you can see that the person running the YouTube channel is emulating the same photo.

I believe that this suggests that the person who was behind the YouTube channel may also be behind the Pinterest account, has adopted the name of an obscure actress as a kind of ‘persona’ in a possible attempt to get more views/clicks (possibly when the YouTube channel didn’t take off, they pivoted to Pinterest and managed to get a massive following.)

If I were to sell t shirts or other things with prints on them that were downloaded from pinterest, it would be copyright violation. But how do I track the original artist down to maybe ask for permission if there are A LOT of reposts of that? Is there some way or is everything on pinterest basically a no use for monetary benefit zone?

Everyday, more and more people get absolutely fed up with the abomination that pinterest has become. The feedback is so prevalent, its impossible for them to just ignore. So why do they? I just dont get it. Why would you want to keep your app garbage slop and continue to lose users. Is there a chance that they'll ever change for the better?

Basically the title. Are there any alternatives to Pinterest?? I absolutely adore my boards but I can’t keep searching for pins like a needle in a hay stack of ads and AI.

I post time to time on Pinterest, and I noticed like a year ago, out of no where, comments on some of my pins were being auto turned off. I tried to find any solution, and nothing worked.

I made a new account, and the same thing is happening😭 and it’s mainly only to my pins that have more saves/ likes, which sucks because i would love to engage with the people on the app! i’ve reached out to customer service and literally nothing has come out of that💔 i’ve tried the edit pin -> advanced settings -> allow comments, and my comments are still auto turned off. has anyone found a solution to this issue it’s been a year and it irks me so bad😭

Is this a part of the new update? I thought you couldn't save images to boards that were previously archived and now all of a sudden I can save images to them? I'm about to delete each one at this point... because I don't need them. And I don't know why they're showing up.

Please PLEASE make it possible for users to turn off having to see other people’s comments. Or, at the very least, to have to see the first/top comment directly under a pin. Pinterest is crawling with younglings and shut-ins who post immature/irritating/unnervingly puritanical comments everywhere and I really don’t want to have to see them all the time. It is off-putting and kind of depressing, and I use the app less because of it.

Putting this here because I cannot find a generalized feedback option on the Pinterest website/app, and I suspect one or two of your rapidly dwindling population of human employees might peruse this sub from time to time.

as well as being entirely and totally fed up with the random AI slop that fills my feed whenever I reload the website/app, what happened to the 'more ideas' feature? i'm genuinely so distraught because its the only feature i can use that isn't filled past the BRIM with AI nonsense. it's gotten to the point that before i can even scroll through in peace, i've grown to now reload the website/app at least three times before getting somewhere.

I could enter my prompt into your conveniently located search bar at the top of the app, hit enter, and a world of ingenuity would gloriously appear within the search results. Real human crafted pins, Images… picture after picture - stimulating muses- sparkling creativity and excitement. Sometimes I would find what I needed right away, sometimes you’re brilliant algorithm based on me and my likes and my saves would embrace me in a warm safe catalyst sparkling further inspiration as I fell into a Pinterest wormhole motivation - sometimes things I didn’t even realize I needed to be motivated about. Pins beautifully curated, might be an outgoing link to a tutorial, an article, a blog… it was a land of inventiveness. A catalyst for Eureka moments throughout the world.
Pinterest, I sure do miss those days.

Every time I select "See fewer AI" on a pin, only that pin is removed. I'm still served countless AI images and videos.

Why is there not an option to not see any AI at all? Why do I need to manually select to only remove one pin at a time?

Ridiculous.
