DISCUSSION Raoul vs Arsene

Which one do you like better? I honestly think Raoul is way better than Arsène when it comes to design, symbolism, and how well he reflects Joker. Don't get me wrong, Arsène is in my top 3 Personas, but seeing Raoul's concept just makes me wonder why Atlus made that decision.

Honestly, I feel like it's simply because Raoul is way too cool to be a starter Persona lol. What do you guys think?

Probably because Arsene was made first. Raoul was made for P5R.
It's a shame he was only made to be DLC, but he was suppose to be like the evolved persona the other party members get in the last act of P5R.

im pretty sure Raoul IS Joker's evolved persona. I don't know why they made him dlc though

I'm pretty sure that was what was intended. It's a shame that it was given no narrative relevance though.

sadly yeah, wish it was given a narrative relevance like he could of evolved his persona on THAT boss fight

I like Raoul better, the fedora, the tie and the red jacket make him look hella fire, and i really like the wings too. That's not to say Arsene isn't cool but Raoul is literally evolved Arsene anyway so yeah.

Gameplay wise, Phantom Show has put in work for me.

GOATED tier Vs Great basically tho

Raoul suffers from the thing that most of the P5 3rd awakenings suffer from which is modernization. He looks cool but Arsene just has this more mystical feel that Raoul loses cause of the modern touch.

Only one that doesn't suffer from that is Agnes cause a motorcycle is inherently modern

Also I can much more easily imagine Arsene talking with Carmen than I can Raoul with Celestine

I like Raouls design more, but I think it works especially well partially because it's an evolved Arsene

They're both SD cool looking! If I had to choose, Raoul. All the Royal Persona take it to the next level.
