When they freeze they expand and rupture and now you have a block of ice in a small compartment

I mean, the point isn’t to actually freeze them?
I’ve never had an issue, always set a timer though.

Wtf no obviously not. I’ve never had beer spray in my face after putting them in the freezer, though.

That's only if it was sealed badly. My partner accidentally left a small bottle of cola in the freezer and after it thawed it was just fine, it even remained fizzy!
