📌Mod-Approved Resource The 30-Day Redirect Plan, Week by Week

Week 1: Observe. Note exactly where, when, and how your cat scratches. Place a scratcher directly at the main trouble spot. Don’t move it.

Week 2: Reinforce. Calmly guide your cat to the scratcher when you catch furniture scratching. Reward use immediately with praise or a treat.

Week 3: Adjust. If it’s being ignored, change one thing at a time (material, angle, or position) rather than everything at once.

Week 4: Expand. Once use is consistent, add a second scratcher elsewhere and nudge the first a few inches at a time if you want it moved.

Most stories in this sub took longer than 30 days, so treat this as a framework, not a deadline.
