Thailand Discord Chat

If you feel like chatting about thailand in general, consider joining this Thailand discord server linked below. While it’s not an outright /r/pattaya or nightlife chat, there are already existing members who don’t seem to discriminate against what topics are brought up.

We’ve been invited to come be a part of their community, which I think is a bit rare considering how most thailand communities, including the mothership itself /r thailand, tend to keep discussion regarding pattaya and the nightlife at a distance. That being said, I think within this subreddit, we’ve got a friendly group of active commenters without a ton of negativity. Let’s bring some of that same energy to the discord chat and hopefully encourage a more relaxed impression of what partying in pattaya is all about.

Girls are getting lazy on morning performance

Im an astute casual visitor with approximately 60 nights stayed in town over the past 9 years.

This time around, it's a matter of luck to secure a TF meeting with something visually tasty.

And they don't want to stick around

I've seen many of their phone home screens with 2000 unread messages. It's funny to see some dudes writing 150-word opening messages full of love poetry when "hi 1500st " is the ultimate opener.

I had maybe 3 awesome encounters, all up costing about 10k a day for everything.

Taking from bangkok spankys was worse, 7k all up for ST with cbj!!?

It was a failure.

Paid the bullshit 10drink+ bf+ lady on Soi 6 once.

But the girl put on a magical 3 time performance and paid her own bottle for that moment and later in ibar and my cocktail.

Threw the pingpong balls at a gogo.

Bucket list checked.

Now they try to skip the morning dance leaving before 9am, deduct their rate if they do.

Had some TF ST bookings 2 really good, some ok and 2 failures

The point is this time around, I didn't find anyone who wants to hang around for a few days at a negotiated rate.

And they all asking 5k long time, but leaving early

Last year it's 1500/3000 80% of the time

Sapphire Club on walking street

This gogo club is not talked about much here.

But this is literally one of the best gogos I have visited in Pattaya. It has the same vibe as “Spankys” in Nana plaza but with bigger venue.

Red wine: 170
Schweppes lemon soda: 120
LD: 235

Pros:
1. Beautiful Women
2. Big centre stage
3. Dance show after every 40-60mins.
4. Free popcorn
5. Girls drink their LD slowly.
6. More than 30 girls available, 10 on stage at one time (20 min rotation)

Cons:
1. Mamasan keep asking for LD (though this happens in every club, but I don’t particularly like it)
2. After every stage reshuffle (20 mins), 3 girls from the previous group will come with shots to every table and ask you to buy them a shot each.

On a side note, saw 2 guys ringing the bell 30 times, buy ping pong balls (worth 10k each, 500 balls) atleast 10 times. And they didn’t even take a lady to sit with them.

So they atleast spent 170500 apples in a single night
(Till the time I was there, I don’t what happened after 1am)
Some guys are just super rich.

Almost ALL BGs and FLs are Psychopaths

• Upvotes

I was reading a journal on psychopathy, and realized some crucial similarities between personality traits of a psychopath and the ploys we encounter. This is verily true for those ploys who have sponsors or keep shifting from one sponsor to another.

Here‘s what the pubmed site says:

” A person with pronounced psychopathic traits pursue personal objectives with comparatively little to no emotional concerns for how their actions affect others. They can clearly understand society’s moral rules, fairness in the engagement, and even recognize their behavioral violation of those rules. But understanding them and acting against them do not create feelings of guilt, remorse, empathy and even concern for the well being of the other person.

Consequently, personal rewards, preferences, and anticipated consequences may exert greater influence over their decisions than considerations of fairness or empathy. Some may pursue calculated long-term goals, but most act impulsively by showing consistent behavioral traits like risk-taking, boredom, aggression, high emphasis on self-image, repeated rule breaking and appearing trustworthy or caring while exploiting others.”

here’s the source for the ones if anyone is interested in reading dense research texts - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30650005

This is certainly concluded based on my experience. Do the others have similar experiences as well?

Club- Reserving a table.

2nd trip, returning in 3 weeks. First trip the clubs(Insomnia, Republic & Mixx) were packed by 1am on a Friday, hardly anywhere to stand near the action. I'm solo, is reserving a table a better option? Is there a forum for guys that want to link up and split a table? I'm 54...not interested in closing the place down, just hanging for 2-3 hours.

Clubbing in Republic, Myst or Candy club? Which is better?

Hi, I’m Indian, I know most people don’t like us. And some clubs might restrict my entry. (I can understand since some of our folks are crazy)

Points to be noted:

  1. I can spend the bucks.
  2. I’ll be bringing a ploy from a gogo bar with me.
  3. Will go there after 1:30am, since barfine is only 1500 + LT 5000, or else I have to pay 4K barfine for leaving early.
  4. Don’t want to get a bottle worth 8k since I won’t be able to finish it and won’t be going there again.

So, which club should I go to? Where my girl can have fun and there won’t be any restrictions on my entry.

(Ps. I can’t spend bucks but that doesn’t mean I will be wasteful with my money)

Sorry for the post, but would appreciate anyone who can help me with this.

Edit:
Went to Republic, with no problem, staff was nice and accommodating, through the music needs a bit of work, mostly edm before 4am, but after 4am he played bangers after bangers a mix of r&b and hip-hop.

Got a walk-in table on 1st floor, way too crowded at 2am.
Costs me 1.6K for snacks and drinks + tip.

Though it was a dead crowd, the only excitement was when they had a contest of twerking.

Thank goodness for my girl, who was ever so active and dancing to every song. She is the best ploy I ever met in Thailand, even the LT price was upto me.
Amazing in bed too. Though usually they stay upto 5hrs, but she will be staying till 6pm.

Barfines at massage shops?

Curious whether I can barfine a ploy I fancy from a massage shop? How much barfine do they charge generally? Not an extremely upscale place, something like a Risa Massage?

Curious about the locals

I’ve been once, planning a trip back, but one thing I was just thinking about. Happy ending massages seem to be the normal, basically expected in the area as just a part of the service. Is this culturally accepted?

Like if a man is dating or even married, and wants a massage, is it just accepted that he will get a happy ending as well? Even if he’s really going for back pain? Or do they just say no to the service and get a normal massage lol. In many English countries like the US most people would see this as cheating and it’s not as apparent and at literally every massage parlor lol.

Edit:
I was only there for a week, with friends, only did the tourist stuff like riding an elephant, petting a tiger, and seeing that huge wooden palace. I did not get to enjoy or learn about the culture itself, which is why I’m curious and trying to learn lol.

Pattaya 23rd November

Yo, heading over to Thailand to get some tattoo work done. Will have a week in Pattaya 23Nov to 30Nov.

Been lurking a bit so I’ve got enough sussed to get me in trouble.

Any other travellers heading that way? Got a few ideas for the itinerary and places I want to visit (with the obvious being obviously obvious). Nightclubs, pub crawl, boat tour, and..I dunno, fucking whatever.

Would be sick to meet with anyone willing to share some knowledge; salty old timers, Pattaya veterans, or newbies like me. Even if you just want to sink piss and yarn for an arvo.

Aussie, bloke, 30s, solo

What's been your experience dating African girls in Thailand?

I mean, obviously people come to Thailand for the local girls and a lot of guys talk about their experiences dating Thai girls.

But I happen to love black girls as well. Last time I was in Bangkok and Pattaya, I saw some very pretty and beautiful african ladies there that piqued my interest. I was just staying for a week so I didn't have time to date but I wanna go back next year for a longer visit

How is it dating african girls there? What's the major difference in dating them as opposed to local Thai girls? If you have any personal experience, I'd be grateful to hear them. Any red flags to watch out for?

Paying for hotel

Hello all 👋🏼

Can I ask, is it normal for a hotel to demand full payment upfront when you check in?

Last year I used Agoda.com so the money was payed upfront but these year I've gone directly with the hotel, I emailed yesterday and their response was I pay in full at check in.

TIA

Why can't I stop liking bar girl's.

I know I'll be in for some abuse after i post this but surely can't just be me. I seem to have developed a pattern that is making me a bit miserable 😖. I have an attractive Thai gf in her 50s but she's quite controlling and doesn't want me sitting on the bar street in any city for over 3 hours. I usually end up on these streets and not liking 95% of the women. Then I end up making friends with one or two of them, having a laugh and buying them drinks Which inevitably leads to me sleeping with them. Then afterwards it quickly goes downhill because the next planned customer flies in from swiss etc. I rarely ever like them in the beginning but once ive slept with them a couple of times then i do get attached somewhat and obviously this is the last thing they want. Gf is literally patrolling the bar street in her car and turning up at the bar frequently. It's gotten to the point where I'm contemplating breaking up with her and not returning to Thailand because this entertainment industry and alcohol isn't doing me any good in monetary, health or emotional peace of mind either. Surely it can't only be me with these issues.

Is asking for tips everywhere becoming normal in Pattaya, or am I just overthinking it?

I'm currently in Pattaya, enjoying my vacation and honestly having a pretty good time overall. I'll be here until October 26, so I'm not in a rush and I'm just enjoying the daily life, exploring different places, bars, restaurants, and trying new things.

But I've noticed something happening a few times, and I'm curious what other people think.

For example, I went to Boss Club and ordered a Sex on the Beach cocktail. It was 585 baht, which is already quite expensive compared to other places I've been to. The drink itself was nothing special. No fruit, no decoration, just a pretty average cocktail that honestly tasted no better than ones I've had for much less.

Anyway, I handed over 1,000 baht and got 400 baht back (three 100s and two 50s). The girl then asked me for a tip.

I was thinking, wait, I'm already paying almost 600 baht for an average cocktail, and now I'm being asked to tip on top of that?

I ended up giving her 20 baht. Not because I can't afford more, but because I didn't particularly enjoy the drink or the whole experience.

Another example was a manicure and pedicure shop. The service cost around 650 baht, and when I went to pay, one of the girls politely mentioned a tip for her colleague. But here's the difference: the work was genuinely excellent, and I was happy with it, so I gave her another 50 baht, making it 700 total. No complaints there.

I've had a few other similar situations too.

To be clear, I have absolutely no problem tipping for good service. If someone does a great job, I'm more than happy to show appreciation. What I don't really like is being directly asked for a tip, especially when the service is average or the place is already charging premium prices.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the local tipping culture, which is why I'm asking.

Also, one more thing. I've read some comments claiming that certain big clubs, particularly Indian-style clubs like Boss, sometimes show different menus or prices to tourists they think are visiting for the first time. Is there any truth to that, or is it just another Pattaya rumor? I've heard of similar things happening in Turkey, but I don't know whether that's actually a thing here.

I'm not trying to complain about Pattaya or the people here. I'm genuinely enjoying my stay, and most of my experiences have been positive.

Just curious to hear from people who live here or visit regularly.

Do you normally tip every time someone asks, or only when you feel the service deserves it? And have you ever experienced different pricing at these clubs?

Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I'd rather understand how things work than feel like I'm being taken advantage of just because I'm a tourist.

Car rentals

Has anyone rented from this company called "MAKS car rental" that's south of Pattaya, just across Jomtien beach?

Google reviews seemed good but haven't been able to find any results on reddit itself.

Besides this, are there any reputable ones that's recommended (Apart from the big brands)?
