Oddly enough, a very common combo lately.

Hello everyone, I got my Mexican passport last year!

Just wondering though, since I was born in the U.S. and my Mexican passport states that my birthplace is the U.S., will countries that don’t particularly get along with or generally just dislike Americans still treat me like an American because it’s listed as my birthplace even if I present my Mexican passport?

Anyone have experience with this? Thank you!

As part of a 4+ week camping trip across Labrador and Newfoundland, we took our truck to the French island of St Pierre for a few days. We were supposed to also visit Miquelon, but gale force winds from a storm cancelled ferries for a couple days.

Learned in March that great great grandpa was born in Luxembourg and quickly discovered that we qualified as automatically Luxembourgish under Article 7 of the nationality law. Mailed documents in May, received lion certificates in July, had passport appointment in September at the embassy in DC, and yesterday received my Luxembourg passport and ID card!

Would you say my stamp collection is above average, below average, or average?

Guys, I'm very happy to report that the Isle of Man still issues their stamps at Ronaldsway airport! Here's how it went for me.

I routed through Malaga, Spain, via this company called FlyDirect that operates charter flights to/from the Isle of Man to destinations in Spain; I think I was the only non-IoM passport holder there. At the border check at Ronaldsway, I simply asked the officer to stamp my passport, and they were super happy to do it, though it took them a few minutes to get the actual stamp out, change the date, and check the impression on a separate piece of paper. Everyone was extremely amiable. Before going, I had been worrying that they wouldn't stamp a US passport, but this was no issue.

As a side benefit, you can catch an actual steam train from the airport to both Douglas or Castletown should your schedule align, it's really only a 10-minute walk from the airport to the train halt. Overall, the Isle of Man is absolutely charming and definitely worth a visit, even beside the stamp thing

Got a new Canadian Stamp this week! I'm always amazed at how willing the Canadian border guards are to stamp. I also didn't know before that in Quebec the French name of the border agency is on top instead of on the bottom.

I'm curious how it works in a bilingual province like New Brunswick?

The end of an era for Schengen passport stamps? 🇪🇺💔

I recently visited Sweden and Norway, entering and exiting the Schengen Area through Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Unfortunately, it looks like my days of collecting Schengen entry and exit stamps are officially over.

I asked the border police if it was still possible to get a stamp, but they told me they no longer had any stamps available now that the Entry/Exit System (EES) is fully operational.

Thankfully, I still have my Philippine immigration stamps, and with a 10-hour layover in Beijing, I was able to get a 24-hour visa-free transit permit (Temporary Entry Permit) for China.

It’s a little sad knowing that there may be no more physical entry and exit stamps to collect from Schengen countries. After years of traveling around Europe, these little stamps have become part of the memories I keep in my passport.

At least I still have these! 🇵🇭🇨🇳🇪🇺

Bora Bora and Dominica stamps were cool!

Issued at Dushanbe train station arriving from Tashkent. They accidentally stamped exit instead of entry, but the officer explained it won’t be a problem because the right side of the page is always for entry.
