I had not heard of Sally Rooney before all this, but I may have to buy one of her books. It is honestly so fucked up that an author has to worry about being arrested for her beliefs, while a group of war criminals just go wherever they want without concern.
I was really ignorant about how boldly racist the UK is until recent years, what with their race riots and racist laws and learning what motivated a lot of people to vote for Brexit.
(and this is not me saying my own country isn't at least 60% really racist too)
There is a guy on this sub who is deeply afraid of recognising that it's not the the US/UK holding the leash but the other way around. UK's whole fucking purpose atp is to serve lsraeIi interests. They would obliterate their whole nation if it meant that lsraeI can exist for even a couple of days more.

Israel is functionally the military base In the Middle East for the US/UK, which they leverage to their own interests. They can use Israel as their proxy for the modern-day version of the “war on terror” (aka waging violence to hold power over the Middle East) and distance themselves from the bloodshed and destabilization it causes. As much backlash as we see now for US government officials backing Israel, it would be far worse if they were behind the US directly committing genocide against Palestinians.
Israel is happy to accept the arms support to do this from their western backers, since it aligns with their own goals of encroaching on Palestine and other neighbors.
The idea that the US, the most powerful country in the world, is being puppeteered by Israel is totally wrong. The US is controlled by its capitalist class, whose goals currently are served by propping up Israel and their genocide.
Anyone saying that Gaza is a genocide is basing that on popular myth
By all means, show us your International Humanitarian Law credentials, your expertise in genocide research that supersedes all of these experts and allows you to make such a determination.
