UPDATE:
So after doing a lot of digging for a reliable GPU repair guy, I finally stumbled upon a spot right under Games & Geeks in Pace Center called GamingTech.Pk

____

Story:
I google searched and found that they had pretty solid reviews on google maps, so I figured, why not give it a shot… But the second I walked in, I saw a sign slapping me in the face: 2000 PKR Diagnosing Fee💀 Ngl, I almost walked right back out. To make it worse, I put my dead GPU on the counter and the guy sitting there goes, "Boss isn't here yet, it's gonna be a while." I started overthinking, wondering who this VIP boss even was😂, By the time I came back from a quick walk, the boss had arrived and the shop was absolutely packed with sad alphas guys holding huge gpu what looked like dead 5080s and 5090s I guess..

When it was my turn, I gave the guy, Muhammad Bilal I think, the whole backstory. I told him the core was dead (or so I thought). Honestly, I had only bought this dead card for 10k just to harvest the heatsink and fans for a mod on my old RX 5700 XT. Bilal looked at it and told me whoever worked on it before is totally an anari or precious buyer did cheap reflow, they just reflowed it, no actual reballing was done. They replaced a faulty component with a faulty component.. He told me to drop the 2k diag fee, leave the bare PCB with him, and he'd update me. A week goes by, and they hit me with the update: it was a short, it’s completely fixed, and the bill is 23,000 PKR💀**…** Bro!! I went into a state of shock since I bought the dead card for** **10k! I had to borrow money just to pay for it, but when they sent me a video of the card actually posting i forgot borrowing consequences as if im high on mdma lol 😂

I took the bare PCB home. I had already sold off the fans and shroud in pieces, so I had to hustle and message the buyer to get them back. Luckily, he hadn't used them, so he sent them right back. I skipped putting the backplate on because it’s just traping heat on this model anyway, so i throw some leftover gd900 and pads on, and booted it up. Immediate panic!! the hotspot shot straight to 98-99°C even on default settings while playing nfs heat... I immediately undervolted it via MSI Afterburner (dropped power limit by -30%, set core to 1V, locked at 1900MHz), which got my temps down to 80-86°C hotspot on Furmark and a chill 50-60°C main while playing my regular games.

Then a buddy told me about the PTM7950. I applied it, and I couldn't believe my eyes. I used to get a stubborn 18-27°C delta no matter what, but with PTM7950, I was seeing a beautifully healthy 7-10°C delta😳 in fh6 ultra preset..unbelievable!!. I also completely abandoned AMD's Adrenalin software because it kept crashing no matter what i do. now I just run a custom fan tune and card is flying like guko….

Did slight undervolt (1.125V) along with fan tuning and frequency on default.
60-63c main and 68-71c hotspot. (Fh6 ultra preset)

FH6 Reference video (default settings with fans tuned)

Looking back at the whole repair experience, I know some people think I got ripped off. I was talking to someone lately who told me even 15,000 PKR would've been too much since the shop didn't even reassemble the card or put on new thermal pads. I literally handed him a bare PCB, got a bare PCB back, and still paid 23k. But that same guy also told me that the ainak wala boy at Gaming Tech PK is legit and his repair skills are top tier. Honestly, I feel like I just paid extra for a guy who actually knows what he's doing.

I’m going to daily drive this card now for 3 months because while i was about to sell this to a guy on olx, his friend scared the shit out of him, said repair wala na lena 3 mah baad kharab ho jai ga. So now i will play everything on it, though I'm skipping synthetic stress tests since it's still a reballed core (assuming reader have idea of led/ledfree solder behaviour). I’m going to run it like this for the next three months and then drop an update for the Reddit community. A lot of people say repaired cards don't last, so we're gonna put that to the test. Let's see if that's just a myth, or if this repair guy is genuinely legit with a shaka laka boom boom pencil.

I love building and upgrading pc's.

The first is a Ryzen 7 7700 set in the msi b650m MATX, 32gb ddr5, 6tb nvme, RX 7800XT in a Deepcool CH270 Digital chassis. originally i built it in 2023 with a ryzen 5 7600 and rtx 4060 but had to upgrade for couch 4k 60FPS gaming

The second is my favourite, rocking the ryzen 5 7600 from the above build, 32gb ddr5, maxsun b650 itx, 8TB NVME (hehe 2x4tb Lexar NM790s), RTX 5060 low profile with a 1u 650w PSU. this is the pc i travel with, chotu sa bag me fit hojata hai.

When im home, i swap the gpu with another 7800xt for 1440p gaming ( really good 120-180fps easily) on a 27inch Samsumg OLED.

have another pc that runs zimaos and stays as my server with 20tb storage

have one more lenovo micro pc that serves as a personal immich server only with 1.256TB, and runs Zorin OS

love all my pcs, sab k alag alag purposes hain

Does anybody in this country play this game or am I destined to walk this path alone? I’m on PC, have all the dlcs, cross play is fine with me especially for PvE. HMU if you play this game, I need some locals because this game is a pain alone.
