Hey guys, I’m really confused about whether I should join Paderborn Studienkolleg and would appreciate some honest opinions from people who have actually been there.
I’ve seen quite a few posts on Reddit saying that Paderborn is bad/shit and that students shouldn’t go there. But recently I talked to 3 Indian students who studied there, and all three had a completely different experience. They actually said it’s one of the better private Studienkollegs.
They told me that earlier, students with around 50%+ could get in quite easily, and some students who were academically weak ended up failing and then blamed the Studienkolleg. According to them, the admission situation is stricter now.
But honestly, I’m not sure how much I should trust this because they are also offering me a €300 discount through their referral. So obviously I’m wondering if they might get some money/benefit from referring me.
My situation is a bit complicated. I’m currently doing B1 German, and because of some personal reasons, I really need to go this summer and can’t wait until the next winter semester. Getting into a public Studienkolleg with B1 also seems pretty difficult, so Paderborn is one of the options I’m seriously considering.
I’m just looking for real experiences, preferably from people who studied there recently.
How are the teachers and teaching quality? How difficult are the exams? What’s the passing rate like? What kind of grades do students usually get? And how well does it actually prepare you for the FSP?
Also, has anyone here studied there recently and can tell me honestly whether it was worth it?
