Rule Review - Rule 3 and other suggestions
Hi everyone!
The mod team is currently reviewing rule 3 - no generative ai. The way the rule is currently worded prohibits generative AI “content”, but allows for assistive text based ai such as grammarly. However we see that content isn’t properly defined in this instance, which can cause confusion over what is and isn’t allowed.
So we can moderate this consistently, we wanted to ask the community for their opinions, so we can ensure fair moderation for all users.
Regarding rule 3, I’d like to pose the following questions.
To what extent should we prohibit AI? Entirely AI generated videos, audio, images and text remain strictly prohibited, however we see that human made content that is modified by ai in some way can fall into a grey area. For example, a human made image, but ai modified the colours on it.
There are editing tools that use ai to some degree that don’t generate new content, such as background removers (for example, you take a picture of your action figures, but use apples ai background remover tool to remove the background), editing templates (like CapCut) and image enhancers. Should these be allowed or should they be restricted?
If you have any further thoughts or questions on this, please comment below.
We are also open to other rule suggestions as well which we may implement or trial. If you have any suggestions as well, please comment these below and we may consider these.
Thank you :)

DISCUSSION Finally saw the first PR movie. I liked it, although the script and characters were sometimes flat. But, the ending song was catchy as hell. Not movie of the year material, but I am glad I saw it at least once.

Could a Xenonauts-style Pacific Rim game work?
Imagine a game that combines the command and game style of Xenonauts but with the additions of Jaegers and Kaijus instead of Aliens.
The same base building and planet defence mechanics of the first game but instead of fighter jets it's Jaegers that can fight like in the movies against the Kaijus. You can modify and build your own Jaegers with their own weapons but, like in the movie, the Kaijus get stronger and better weapons, like in the game.
Would this work as a concept? Would people play this? Is there any chance of this actually being made?? No, but it's fun to think about.
What do you guys think.

MEME What PEAK has blinded our two Jaegers? (Comment)
Remaking a post I made 5 months ago using Blender. Mostly because of the texture upgrades I gave to my rigs.
Featuring Cherno Alpha & Crimson Typhoon! I've decided to upgrade the decals and logo on the old textures from some of my Rigs (Yes, even Coyote Tango!). Cherno had foot spikes added as a toggle too, along with the turbines now having a value slider. Unsure if I'll release these versions. Mostly for private use and with friends. Besides, ShrubbyNate has already released his own rigs using these models on Deviantart, although more complex. His work is amazing!
About the renders:
2 Cherno variants (With turbines on & with turbines off) and 1 Typhoon!
Edit: Like before, you are free to use these. I don't need credit. They are "reaction images" or what some people may call!

DISCUSSION If you think about it gipsy danger have the highest kaiju kills.
Because it literally went into the kaiju world and blew up. That had to killed at least 16 right?

FAN ART Inspired by Pacific Rim 🌊💀
Rim where giant monsters emerge from the ocean and threaten San Francisco. That image of a massive creature towering over the Golden Gate Bridge really stuck with me.
I wanted to put my own spin on it, so instead of a Kaiju, I painted a giant skeleton rising from the sea to attack the bridge.
Here’s how it turned out. What do you think?

Redesigning Gipsy Avenger. Thoughts?
The idea her for this version of Uprising is that Gipsy Avenger is apart of a line of Mark 5’s made after the events of the first movie in-case the Kaiju ever breached again.

DISCUSSION I know everyone hates the second one, but are the other sequels any good?
Pacific Rim: The Black.
Pacific Rim: Final Breach.
I think those are the only ones besides Uprising. Are they good, or are they garbage?

First time watching
Watched the movie for the first time yesterday. Love scifi but just hadn't felt the desire to watch it until recently. Not a perfect movie but damn does the CGI hold up. Shame there's no sequel.

DISCUSSION How long do you think it would take the precursors to take over the world of kaiju 08 if they went with the same kaiju strategy starting with trespasser and ending with slattern

DISCUSSION Good evening, fellow Pacific Rim fans, since Legendary Comics is set to reveal timeline on when Volume 2 of Pacific Rim: Final Breach will be done later this month or the next month, could we expect more panel art of the books pages?
I myself personally think we most likely will get some more panel art of more of the page Volume 2 of Pacific Rim: Final Breach, when the timeline is made for when it will be done later this month of the month after, and I'm betting money that those will reveal brand new Kaiju in them.
And as I said many times before, I wouldn't be surprised if these new Kaiju are of Category VIII and Category IX, dwarfing even the likes of Quadralith, the Category VII from Volume 1, because "Pacific Rim: Final Breach" is the finale of the Pacific Rim franchise for a good reason.
Therefore, it would only be fitting to have bigger and bigger, and scarier and scarier Kaiju threat to build up to a truly gargantuan, city-sized, world-ending Category X Kaiju that would act as THE final endgame boss of the entire Pacific Rim franchise as a whole.
So try to get ready for what might be coming between the end of this month and the next month.

DISCUSSION Could Cherno Alpha actually beat Shrikethorn (Or Strikethorn, however you say it) in a close up battle?
Now, do I think it's gonna be a quick battle like in Top War? Hell no. But I still think Cherno Alpha MIGHT be able to win if it's hardly fought for hours. And as I said, up close. Not from afar
