Rental Application
Hi everyone!
I was hoping for some advice on this. My partner and I filled out a rental application for a place we love 13 days ago (9 business days). I waited untill 7 business days had passed before I reached out to the property manager we worked with and he let me know he’d check with his boss and get back to us asap… that was 2 days ago. I’ve heard mixed things online about the processing time for these and I was just curious if anyone could let me know if this is normal or not? I’d really appreciate an answer from them regardless of what it is.

Need pumpkin patch recommendations asap
Something relatively affordable to take a group of friends. Hoping to find somewhere with a hayride, apple cider, and a corn maze. I see a lot of stuff on google maps but I'd rather go by recommendation because I've never been to a pumpkin patch in this area.

Anyone have experience with red diesel?
I have an old diesel Mercedes ( 1984 300 SD turbo diesel for anyone who cares) and with diesel prices being so high I’ve been looking into how to get red diesel. I know it’s technically only for off-road use, but I’m not an interstate trucker so I’m not worried about it. If anyone has experience filling up/using it any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Looking for school ideas!
My two neurodivergent kids (5th & 8th graders currently) have both had to withdraw from their PPS neighborhood schools. Where do folks send their kids if the bigger, traditional schools are not working for their kids?! I am feeling especially discouraged after the PPS "rightsizing" proposals came out, as several of our options for next year are on the chopping block.

Benson High School Incident
I'm going to start off by saying that I am a student at Benson Polytechnic High School. I was evacuated with the rest of the school on the day of the incident and know quite well what happened. I have great sympathy for the student involved and hearing that he might be charged as an adult with that many punishments does not seem right to me. Clearly what he did had drastic impacts and he needs help, but prison is not the solution
I am hoping other's directly affected by this event can weigh in. What are your opinions on this? Where were you when it happened? How were you affected and what do you believe is the right course of action. Anyone that knows names, please keep them private. All opinions are welcome but please let me know if you are related to the incident (student, staff, family, etc) or just someone weighing in.
As the people directly affected by this I know we all have some voice to be shared and I believe we should have some say in what happens.
Edit: How many people here actually did go, do go, know someone who went, or works at Benson?

Gladstone School District Needs Help - Spread the word!
I am writing to urge all Gladstone residents to support the school bond on the upcoming November 2026 ballot. Our schools are currently in a state of disrepair—I have personally witnessed holes in the ceilings at John Wetten and heard accounts of the heat failing during the winter. Our district, teachers, and students are facing a critical moment with this bond. I am happy to provide documentation, including past bond outlines and school board meeting resources, for anyone who wants to review the facts.
I often hear the argument that we should simply merge with another district instead of passing this bond. However, we need to be realistic: neither the North Clackamas (NCSD) nor Oregon City (OCSD) school districts have expressed interest in a merger. Furthermore, if this bond fails, our district risks insolvency. Losing our independence would mean giving up local control over where our children attend school and what their curriculum looks like. Imagine voting no and having the constituents of either district pass another bond (North Clackamas has one and Oregon City has two current bonds). Voting no could mean paying even more than what Gladstone School District is asking to fund integral maintenance.
If Gladstone SD were to merge, we would become a small voice in a much larger district. We would be responsible for their existing debt and future bond measures, and likely face the closure of our local buildings as they prioritize their own infrastructure needs.
While it is frustrating that local property owners must bear the cost of maintenance due to long-standing gaps in state and federal school funding, the reality is that the bond is our only path to keeping our schools functional and our district independent. Before saying "I am voting no", I urge you to speak to parents who have students in the district. I have never met a more caring, invested group of educators. They go the mile to support our kids, be their "parent and teacher" at school, and do a million things to make sure our kids have what they need.
Let’s not give up on our students, our teachers, or the future of the Gladstone School District. Please join me in voting yes to protect our local schools.
Do not give up on Gladstone Teachers, Students, and Parents
Vote Yes on Measure 3-644
