Very clear that Brady was bad for his mental health

Leafs fan here, checking in as a (mostly) impartial observer.
This seems to absolutely have been the case and its clear to outside observers as well. If Brady was letting go his family publicly talk shit about his own goalie (and also not cutting that out of his podcast, which he could have done) - I can only imagine what things were like in that dressing room.
I'm no stranger to being a fan of a team with a toxic locker room (at times) and it absolutely has a big effect. Especially with something like goaltending which is already an individual position that can feel isolating at times.
Even though they beat the Leafs, I'm happy to see Ottawa and Ulmark doing so well to start the year, because what he was doing (publicly sewering his own teammates in the media) is some coward-ass shitbird behavior.

I'd love to hear from the staff, owner, GM and players in say... two years' time... How improved the mental health, wellbeing and atmosphere of the team is after Trady's departure.
I'm biased - I suspect it'll be much improved. But I'd love to see facts to back up my assumptions.

I mean he played well in the playoffs while Brady was still around. I think his mental health stuff is more complicated than just not liking one guy

Protect Ully at all costs. Both he and us as a collective market have so much to prove going forward.

Numbers aside he's looking so much better in net. It seemed like when he was struggling he couldn't move well side to side. Or even get up. But he looks like a brick wall right now.

And we got 3 first round picks for him. Turned into Eklund, Cover and Lagerberg Hoen. I'm feeling real good about that return.
