I live in an apartment building 1 block off of campus and I’m pretty sure everyone in the building is also a student (all one bedroom appts). I want to be able to know my neighbors and for us to all be able to communicate with each other, so I kinda want to start a discord for our building or something but I don’t know if people would be in to that, or if they’d think it’s weird or creepy? I don’t even know how to go about doing that. Thoughts?

Long story short, I have some medical problems that make me really tired after a few hours and I commute to campus using the bus system. I simply don’t have the time to bus back home, take a nap, then take the bus to campus again. So as inconvenient/uncomfortable as it is… does anyone have any buildings or better yet rooms they think would make a nice nap spot? I don’t need anything fancy just a quick power nap at a desk would help so much.

Hello! Does anyone have experience with dyslexia/other LD that was able to get the foreign language requirement waived? Or anyone who was successfully able to use American Sign Language instead? Any info or suggestions welcome!

Next term I have to take either BB 450 (general biochemistry) or BB 314 (cell and molecular biology) online, as they share the exact same time for in person lectures. anyone who has experience with either of these classes online/in person have a recommendation of one over the other? I'm an Ecampus student, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a hiking club or knows if there are any established ones? Where we could take pictures/chat on Discord about hikes we've taken where we live, so we could find new places to explore if we ever visit your state! As well as any tips for hiking/trailrunning/backpacking (brands of shoes, DIY Ten Essentials, etc.) And potentially, as we get to know each other, we can plan a long hike somewhere. Just wanting to find a way to be more connected with one another, both on Ecampus and in person.

I took a hiking class a year ago for my fitness credit last summer, and I really enjoyed it. I honestly miss the discussions and seeing others' pictures lol.

Anyone have a monthly permit? I assumed there would be a chance to renew and apparently that’s not the case so mine expires on the 18th and they are all sold out.

Myself and my roommate were woken up this morning at around 7:20 am by OSU employees using very loud gas-powered leaf blowers right outside our dorm room. Anyone who's been in the dorms knows how thin these walls are. They've been blowing leaves every day for the past handful of days, which is annoying, but it's all been during the day so not a big deal. Today, though, we got woken up and couldn't go back to sleep. It's really dumb because the dorm has explicit quiet hours that end at 8:00 am on week days. Also, I KNOW that they have electric leaf blowers because they were using one the other day and it was sooo much quieter.

Anyway, all that to say I want to submit some kind of complaint, but I'm not sure how to do that. I found a feedback form for OSU Public Safety, but the link is broken and I'm not sure if that's even the right people to complain to. I'm sure there's stuff for making a noise complaint about other people in the dorms, but this doesn't really fit under that category. Anyone have any ideas/experience with this? I really want to be able to get enough sleep...

I’ve had several classes in Weniger over a course of five quarters now, including this one, and of the buildings my courses have been in I think this is my least favorite so far. I don’t know exactly why that is. I’ve just had a consistent experience where if I’m feeling stressed and/or exhausted, I feel worse there. I know it’s made with materials such as asbestos and the air quality is questionable, but even so the difference to how I feel inside versus outside seems extreme. Is this just me?

I have a friend who’s graduating hs in the winter is there anyway for me to have a single until she can move in? As the title says, I need to find banana slug for my bio course, and I am wondering if anyone knows the best places to look. I'm not a real nature or woodsy person so I am way out of my depths, but my groups needs one so I was going to help search. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I tried a couple of spots but couldn't find one unfortunately. One of my group mates is going to look around tomorrow. It we can't find one, it sounds like there might be extra in class so we should be fine.
