I loved omd1, omd2, omd3 and omd:unchained. Hate Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap.

Wish they would go back to their original formula and develop a fourth game.

(this is not a "I hate OMD!Deathtrap" post, but rather a "I want OMD!4" post. I just want some orc-slaying in my life.

If Orcst must die! 4 ever would to come out, what would be your hopes? What elements of previous games would you like to come back.

Personally i hope they bring back the large choice of heroes from OMDU, also id also like to see some large scale maps like in OMD3, but maybe with a endless mode.

Maybe a bit controversial but i do like the limited barricades of OMDD with opportunity to get more along the way.

I'm sorry to bother you with my story, knowing that probably few people still play OMDD since it's not very appreciated, but I'm just doing it to leave a record somewhere so that when I'm on my deathbed, I can reread these memories! My super best friend, who I usually play with, abandoned me since two months because he and his wife just had their first child 😜! So I decided to do a solo run! I made it to mission 62 on difficulty 20 before getting wiped out by all the enemies with too much health and the traps becoming too expensive! So I decided to do another run, but this time on difficulty 10! I just finished mission 101! I'm really proud of myself because it's truly, truly difficult to succeed all alone and manage everything that happens by myself, with all the grenadiers, hunters, druids, thieves, normal flyers, health flyers, stone flyers, infected kobolds, unstable orcs, unstable rifts, not to mention the immense amount of enemy health and the cost of traps! But even after 1200 hours of gameplay, I've still discovered new ways to play this game, tips and strategies, even though my awesome friend taught me several and I've applied them to my runs! So, I'm going to continue my run and see how far I can go! Hey, thanks and have a great weekend everyone!

Was Orcs Must die Good ?

the last update was over 4 months ago and there has been no new stuff. not even a tweet or comment in the discord. I thought maybe there would be an anniversary update but nope.

hell there was a whole new game announced and the official orcs must die account didn't say anything. I doubt most people even know the game is announced as I wouldn't have even known it if it wasn't for a person on discord.

Just bought Deathtrap bc I saw a lot of people talking that the game is good, that people criticizing it were just salty bc of barrier limit etc. The barrier limit is by far the smallest problem, how no one is talking about how bad every other aspect of the game is. The heroes don't feel that unique at all and their unique traps are basically all useless. the most unique ones are the melees but they are just die super quickly later on. Most Threads are boring AF and don't change the gameplay at all, they are just number tweaks like +x% crit, +x% dmg or -x% cost. there are very few threads that actually change how traps or heroes work, also, there are very few Threads, it is a horrible sign that in 4 missions i've already seen basically every thread multiple times, and worse of all, most of threads in the shop are not even worth buying bc they are just worse than the average already unlocked. and then, the one thing that multiplies all the "shitness" of this game: there are so few maps that runs constantly feel the same. I've been to only 4 runs and there are maps that i already played 4 times, this is unacceptable for a game that markets itself as a roguelike. Really disappointed specially for a fairly expensive game that had so much potential.

Have the devs even released any news since september when they did the last content update for deathtrap? Twitter not a word and the discord links dont work anymore what happened?

I am a huge Orcs must die fan, and have been working for few months on a game that inspired me while playing OMD.
I wanted to have more building freedom and give the player more power feeling where you can upgrade défenses and your character and have a unique build each time you play the game, it is a mix of orcs must die and risk of rain.

The demo will come out a bit later this year, after summer, but as the steam page went online along with the trailer I would love to present it to you and I hope you will like it !

What do you like most about Orcs Must Die? What could I borrow and what could I improve upon?

I know it had it's issues but it had my absolute favourite maps, gave me a reason to log in every day, kept the grind going and was just FUN!

I got OMD3 the day it came out and within a week or 2 everything was 100% done and I never touched it again until last week and I'm going through it again for the PS5 trophies and just 1 to go and then I think, what will make me want to play it again?

Gutted they killed unchained for that reason as well as the maps

I’ve been thinking a lot about future additions to the character lineup. I really hope the devs at Robot Entertainment consider bringing back Cygnus and Vorwick in a future update

i started working on a game in a similar style to OMD3, and i'm fishing for traps idea! i have plenty, but i'm curious to see what creative things you guys can come up with.

my game is still in its very early stages but i think it has enough potential to push it further, especialy since i have a clear idea on how to make the replayability really high while keeping it fresh and fun.

what kind of crazy trap would you like to see?

Not my review, just a Youtube VR channel I like and happens to be the first review of the new game that I have seen. She says if you are a fan, and anyone on this subreddit obviously is, then you will be disappointed. She mentions there are no barracades and it's more of a dungeon crawler than anything, so yes, sounds dissappointing!

i think even though it's from 2011 it still holds up fairly well,i really enjoyed getting all of the 27 achievements in it,i reccomend trying it out!
