I have been putting food out for an opossum and in one video I thought I spotted testicles. I also am not sure if there has been more than one visitor. I was watching my opossum eat when I noticed something weird going on in its rear side. I googled possum penis (my search history is very cursed now), and I think it looks like that but Im not really sure whether or not its a mama with babies. Id appreciate help identifying.

To start, I am not worried about my dog--we will call her vet in the morning but she is up to date on all her shots and I know she's not in any immediate danger.
I AM worried about this poor opossum though!! I love opossums and our local wildlife (we actually have a pet sparrow that we rescued last year!) and I would hate to see one of them hurt. I do not think my dog hurt him intentionally at all, because she is generally very good with small animals (we used to have rabbits and she was never aggressive with them). She is big though and I worry that her licking him might have hurt him accidentally or sent him into shock or something. He looks awful but he was definitely alive when I came inside a few minutes ago, and it definitely looked like he was just "playing dead".
I'm in a large city and there are wildlife rehabbers in my area that I can call in the morning. One of them said online that if the opossum is longer than 6 inches, it's fine to be on its own and it was definitely bigger than that.
Is there anything else I can do? Should I give it something to eat or cover it up to keep it warm? (It's not particularly cold out but I'm worried about it being wet)
Tagged NSFW because I think the picture is a bit upsetting to look at
edit: he was DEFINITELY ALIVE last I saw him and moved a few feet on his own while I was inside. My mom has a friend in another state who is a wildlife rehabber, and she gave me the go ahead to put him in a box with a towel and a couple of grapes. He was definitely breathing and was grabbing onto sticks with his little hands while I was moving him into the box. I know the chances are slim but I'm going to call a local wildlife rehabber in the morning if he's still alive. If not, at least I know I gave him somewhere safe and comfortable to spend his last few hours and gave him the best shot I possibly could :(
edit 2: he is still alive and ate the grapes I gave him!!! I will be taking him to a rehabber this afternoon
edit 3: he made it to the rehabber yesterday safe and sound and looked MUCH better!

This is Peter Presley. He was a rescue from a couple years back. He required a strict protocol, but he sure is cute!

Looks like they recognized each other then became peaceful. They're probably siblings.

I went to put food out, and she about gave me a heart attack lol. She wouldn't move, just looked at me with that 50 tooth stare 😏

Found this youngster out in the street in the afternoon. I gave it some walnuts since I assumed it was out on the hunt.
Does it need help?
