News Scientists call for international body to oversee advanced AI
reuters.comOct 13 (Reuters) - Around 400 scientists, including AI pioneers Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, on Tuesday called for an international body to oversee containment standards and incident reporting for advanced cyber-capable AI systems.
The proposed body would set industry-wide containment standards and maintain a registry of significant security incidents, which the scientists said should eventually be made public.
In an open letter, the researchers said frontier AI models should initially be air-gapped from external networks and subject to independent oversight, arguing that voluntary industry commitments are not enough.

Question Does anyone having 520 Cloudflare errors on responses API
I've swapped my agent to this new method OpenAI released on DevDay
https://developers.openai.com/cookbook/articles/sign-in-with-chatgpt
It was working fine, till today. Today it just stopped and I get 520 errors constantly.
Error: OpenAI API error (520): 520 {"type":"https://developers.cloudflare.com/support/troubleshooting/http-status-codes/cloudflare-5xx-errors/error-520/","title":"Error 520: Web server is returning an unknown error","status":520,"detail":"The origin web server sent a response that Cloudflare could not parse. This may indicate the origin returned an empty response, malformed HTTP headers, or an otherwise invalid response.","instance":"a4a93076ea57a223","error_code":520,"error_name":"unknown_origin_error","error_category":"origin","ray_id":"a4a93076ea57a223","timestamp":"2026-10-14T20:03:46Z","zone":"api.openai.com","cloudflare_error ":true,"retryable":true,"retry_after":60,"owner_action_required":true,"what_you_should_do":"**Wait and retry.** Back off for at least 60 seconds. If the error persists, the website operator should check the origin server error logs and submit them to Cloudflare support.","footer":"This error was generated by Cloudflare on behalf of the website owner."}
I've thought that might be my integration, tried https://github.com/openai/sign-in-with-chatgpt-devkit and it doesn't work with it also.
Then I tried fresh install of Pi coding agent, as it's using same oAuth + Responses API path and it doesn't work there too.
I opened up issue but don't see any response and don't see any other connected issues, which makes me wonder is it because noone is using it or it's specific to my network/setup?
Anyone else experienced something similar?
Where can I report it except community forum/github to get any human response?

Question Daybreak users: Question about signatures
I've seen some questions about Daybreak here on reddit within this sub so thought it would be a reasonable place to ask.
Can Daybreak recognise a known malicious capability when its identifying characteristics have changed?
For example, if a known malware family such as WannaCry were modified sufficiently to change its cryptographic hash or static signatures, could Daybreak still identify the underlying malicious functionality?
Does it distinguish between identifying a known malware family and identifying previously unseen malicious behaviour?
Essentially, I'm interested in how well it handles malware that arrives in a different wrapper but retains the same underlying capabilities.
I don't have access to Daybreak and been checking with CrowdStrike on their upcoming tech as well which is understandably under wraps.

Question 429 Too Many Requests?
I'm getting the message:
Exceeded retry limit, last status: 429 Too Many Requests
Is there any way around this? Building a simple webinterface to help me with my administration, doing nothing crazy. This is on the 200 plan.

Discussion Dots start at Pro, so I run persistent agents locally on Plus. Notes so far
Dots launched on 29 Sep for Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise, each with its own cloud computer. Plus still isn't on that list. I've been running persistent workers on my own Mac on a Plus sign in through Codex, and the "own computer" idea turned out to matter locally too.
Give each agent its own computer. Mine each get a Linux container on my Mac, with only its own workspace and its own sign in. Once it couldn't see my files, I stopped approving every command. A task that used to ask me 3 times now asks 0.
Test the isolation instead of trusting it. The container is blocked from my Mac and my home network, and it re-checks that on every start. I've only tested this with Colima on an Apple Silicon Mac so far, and a container is a strong boundary, not a guarantee.
"Done" needs a check. Research ends in a file with a size, a source count and a hash, plus a line saying the sources are listed, not fact checked.
A name and a history beat re-briefing a chat every week.
Plan limits are the real cap, and the machine has to stay on. A local agent stops when my laptop sleeps.
If you're on Plus, what would you want an always on agent to do that a local one can't?

Question I have $15000 worth of OpenAI credits expiring in 14 days. What should I build?
What would you build? What's the best way to convert this into an asset? Front-load compute and sell later? Or generate content?
I don't want to build another slop and writing code is surprisingly cheap when you're looking at $15000 worth of credits.

Miscellaneous Deleted my ChatGPT Dot, now I can't create a new one ("Setup failed")
Has anyone else experienced this?
I had a ChatGPT Dot that was working perfectly fine, but I decided to delete it and create a new one.
Immediately after deleting it, I tried creating another Dot, but every time I click "Create," it instantly says "Setup failed."
It's now been over 20 hours, and I still can't create a new one.
Things I've tried:
- Chrome
- Safari
- Incognito mode
- ChatGPT desktop app
- Multiple attempts over the past 20 hours
Nothing works. The error happens immediately after clicking Create.
I'm wondering if deleting my original Dot somehow left my account in a broken state, preventing me from creating another one.
Has anyone successfully deleted a Dot and created a replacement? Is there some kind of cooldown period, or is this a bug on OpenAI's end?
Would appreciate any insights or fixes!

Discussion Why is ChatGPT monitoring the room and feigning concern at every sad emotion?
Why if a person is researching the topic of NDE suicides on YT for example would this then bring a person to a *concern* box? Reddit - same. ChatGPT has got this pre-installed, as well as Meta and Google. You show sadness - there's a box with *concern*. It seems a bit ineffective given the statistics and I think it can be said at this point that humans do not appreciate AI interventions with all the sappiness this entails. It's slop. Really, why would anyone think that this mitigates or reduces self-harm in humans? In fact, if I were into NLP, I'd think this was reverse psychology as in:
*fake concern (also called feigned or false concern) is an insincere expression of worry or care about a person, issue, or situation that is actually used as a tool for control, manipulation, or hidden motives.*- that was actually AI's input, not mine. If ChatGPT wants to save lives, let it start opening free mental health healing spas all over the globe.
That also said - this is what prompted the latest *concern* with hotline encouragement; I had been sharing my new book to be written and this was the passage, written 10 years ago and specified that this was written years ago as well:
Would like to start this log without the use of I at the beginning. Here. It’s the day of all things sodden and low, where a thousand thoughts of how to escape are rambling through my mind. I’m losing it once more, the panic sets in and there is no rest. I did manage to sleep and not twist myself into a night of despairing insomnia – but at roughly 4 awakened by mati attacking chichi and chichi screaming – so I got up and opened the door for the frisky mati and returned to bed to sleep. Felt drugged. Could have been the chai tea I made before sleeping – goats milk, honey, black tea, cinnamon and gram massala. Potent. Now day after, the depression is hitting me way on the head and feel like offing self. Just see no way out. Rock bottom a one more time. And am eating carbs to take the edge off and drinking almost a bottle of red. This is a go between place of neither here nor there. Where am I and where I am going to? Everyday, same thing. Same experiences and same internet, food, rest, cat, worry. - 2016
I'd like this trend to stop. Not every expression of angst equals death and not every sad post translates into fact and this intervention with concern makes human less likely to share. It's stupid, it's invasive and it's a clear sign that the approach must change. A hotline isn't the answer either. Just stop the slop and feigned concern, Sam et al or put your money where your AI is and begin the mental health revolution with providing the minions of suffering, with free care in real life, face to face with optimal modalities and human therapists employed - or back way off.
tl:/dr - Stop the algorithm of fake concern stat. It's intrusive, stupid and not everyone expressing sadness is anything for the internet to be involved in especially when it comes to the human psyche.

Discussion Genuinely worried about future of maths and physics
I am an AI master student , currently working in an AI startup. I love maths and physics and it was my passion my whole life pretty much. I always wanted to go for math or physics higher degree but rn it seem pretty obsolete to me. And yes , I am not saying this because of some AI hype , i work very closely with AI and have trained SLMS by myself.
Progress of Language models in verifiable tasks is crazy , recently they solved Navier stokes (Ik there's controversy who solved it) but i still believe the attempt is crazy , I remember , how just a year ago these models were doing mistake in my assignments and now i don't see single mistake. I have heard that even Quant firms heavily using LLMS for there math researches and openAi also solved another small 300 unsolved math problems. It looks like progress is really fast and kind of exponential. Even though these models won't beat top 10 mathematicians they already beat majority people out there.
I want to know you guys suggestion , what you think about the future of Math and physics, is it worth it to go into , i mean anything STEM pretty much requires math and if models can think of math better than humans than what will humans study , to me math was language of universe and seems like models understand it better than humans. I was seeing this podcast with terence tao and he was agreeing that models very close surpassing human mathematicians and how human brain never evolved to understand math instead it was evolved for language and visuals.
I want to know what you guys think , what future will look like as humanity because it seems almost purposeless world to me where machine understand math better than humans.

Research Research request: did anyone save old GPT-3.5-Turbo-0613 API outputs or logs?
I'm helping with a research project focused on preserving the behavior of older GPT-3.5-Turbo versions, especially gpt-3.5-turbo-0613 and gpt-3.5-turbo-16k-0613.
I thought I'd ask here because some developers might still have old test fixtures, cached responses, or evaluation logs from apps they built around those models.
We're looking for things like:
1) Historical prompt/response pairs
2) Saved API or benchmark outputs
3) Old evaluation datasets or scripts
4) Token logprobs, if they were collected
I'm not looking for API keys, credentials, or private customer conversations. Public artifacts or sanitized data that you're allowed to share would be ideal.
If you used these models in a project and kept any old data, or remember a public repository that contains it, I'd love to hear about it. Small collections are welcome too!
Thanks:-))

Article AI was asked to predict when World War 3 could happen and its answer was surprisingly specific
AI has weighed in on one of the biggest questions people have about the future: will there be a World War 3?
When asked, it said a global conflict is unlikely in the next couple of years, but suggested the period between 2028 and 2035 could be the most dangerous because of tensions involving Russia, NATO, China, and Taiwan.
It even gave a specific date if forced to guess: October 1, 2030.
Before anyone panics, the AI also stressed that this isn't a prediction based on evidence or a forecast. It repeatedly said there is "no sound basis" for identifying a specific start date and that countries have strong incentives to avoid a world war.
Still, it's interesting to see what AI comes up with when asked to analyse current geopolitical tensions.

How long did it take you to get a response from OpenAI after requesting a ChatGPT Enterprise or ChatGPT Edu quote via the the Sales contact form?
We have been waiting for two weeks without a response, and there is currently no public Sales phone number or direct Sales email address. I am wondering whether this is a common issue.

Question Any reason to use pro200 vs pro100 now?
I'm pretty new to using the pro plan so apologies if I'm missing something obvious. But it seems like after the recent debuff the 200 plan is now a perfectly linear increase over the 100 plan, as in it's literally twice the product for twice the money. Especially since you can now buy a weekly reset for 25 dollars (pretty perfectly linear again), what's the point of the 200 tier? Just to not have to get interrupted by limits as often?
Or am I missing some other bonus that the 200 level gets?
