A friend of mine growing up had a black cat that always drooled when she was on your lap. They kinda shunned her and didn't really give her as much love as the other animals they had.

So whenever I would go over, I would make sure to always accept her sitting on my chest or lap just to show her she was loved. It wasnt had to keep a dry washcloth arous to clean up any drool, id simply lay it under her mouth. She was my favorite pet of theirs cause she was so sweet and just wanted love.

Why even have the kitty at that point? Ugh, I really hate people sometimes. Poor kitty.

I know right. But at the same time, I didn't want to say that cause I loved seeing her, and I didnt want to out the idea in their heads and for then to give her away.

And it's not like they we being abusive neglectful. They just accepted that she was around. But I never felt any love from them to her.

Well at least you got to show her she wasn't completely unwanted!

That's what I've strived to do ever since I was a teen. If someone isn't grtig the love they deserve, then that's th least I can do. I'll often promise them that "I will always show them love when I'm near them."

I love you for that. I just use my asshole powers to clap back at people being shitbags to others.

I had a black cat who would drool also, and had a thing for toenails. Not feet, not toes, only the nails. She'd would just rub her little drooly face all over them when I sat on the edge of the porch to trim them.

I had an incredibly loving black cat who'd drool like crazy when he was in his happy place. I just considered the drool puddle to be a blessing from him and accepted it.

My tabby would crawl on my chest, in my face, and purr and drool like a freakin xenomorph into my beard. Never did anything but more pets.

Is it nasty? Yes. But is it also cute? ABSOLUTELY!

When I was in college, the family I rented a room from had a teenage daughter. She adopted a little void kitty who would come into my room, and when I was studying or watching tv she would curl up under my hair in my collarbone/shoulder area and sleep her life away. I always had to keep a towel close by because she would drool so much and it would collect in the space between my collarbone and shoulder. She was such a sweetie.
