Monthly Buy, Sell & Break Rule 3 Post

On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).

Some reminders/ground rules:

Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.

Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.

More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.

Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.

So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.

If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

Local Question Question about Tree Top Rush at Fontenelle Forest

Edit: Wow! Thank you everyone for such kind words! I genuinely was not expecting that. And thank you everyone who gave insight & suggestions for the Tree Top Rush. You all definitely made me feel more confident.

Has anyone of larger size, specifically larger butts and thighs done this? I’m concerned about the harness fitting. I have been on a weigh loss journey for almost 2 years and have finally crossed the 200lbs lost mark. I started at 475lbs and am now at 265lbs. To celebrate my accomplishment so far I wanted to do something I’ve always dreamed of and that’s doing the tree rush ropes course & zip line at Fontenelle. I am finally under the weight limit but I’m concerned about the harness fitting my rear & thighs. For reference I’m a size large on top and a size 18/20 in my lower half. I want to do it so much but i know if I get there and it doesn’t fit I will feel like such a failure. I provided some picture for reference. Thanks everyone!

Other Desperately needing cash right now

I’m behind on my rent and I’m really needing help. I had a job offer lined up but they rescinded the offer so right now I’m scrambling to find a job. I’ve been applying to multiple jobs everyday, and I’ve had interviews but nobody is getting back to me. Even if it’s something simple as lawn mowing or house keeping I’ll do it. If anyone has any resources for rental assistance or jobs hiring PLEASE let me know.

Jodi Osborne, the owner of an exotic animal breeding business called Critter Close-Ups went on Live with Rolling Gavel to promote the selling of a kangaroo and kinkajou. Jodi has been in the news and social media a lot lately with animal abuse allegations. There are videos online of her grabbing an exotic caracal cat by the neck for chewing on her shoes, taking a baby animal from the mom and it screaming while she says she is selling it and having a dog at her grooming business whose eye fell out. The videos can be found on Reddit and YouTube.

From previous comments online she is friends with a woman online called Tracie Perry aka Tracie Jones (see photo comment below of Facebook post of Tracie talking about Jodi). Tracie has a long arrest record for fraud of selling monkeys. She is also on TikTok famous for a video where a man tries to get back his monkeys from her and she threatens to shoot him. This goes down a long rabbit hole if you're bored today.

Link to one of the Facebook Pages that talks about all the people Tracie has scammed and the federal laws she has broken.

Local Question Got approached again by people asking for charity donations via buying candy on 72nd street parking

I went to Micheal’s recently to grab a few things and there was a group of 3 guys coming up to everyone with bins of candy asking for people to buy them to raise money for charity. I declined partially because I didn’t have cash and am not comfortable sending virtual payments to random people on a whim but also because I’d gone to another store down the block from Micheals a few months ago and was approached by someone else selling candy to raise money in a similar way and something felt iffy about it.

Am I overthinking feeling apprehensive or have other people been approached by people like this and that feeling was correct?

Local Question Building sinking?

I volunteer in the building and it’s owned by a church and have noticed its sloping quite a bit on one corner. And the wall is away from the floor and cracks throughout the building, I afraid the building could be over a sink hole that is forming. Shelving outside of building is sinking into the ground .Should I be concerned??

Local Question Car Registration

I have been at my current address for about 5 years. About 6 months ago I got someone else’s new car registration in the mail. Had my address on it, just their name. So it’s not like it was the wrong address. Now for the last couple months I’ve been getting all kinds of traffic and toll violations in the mail for this person. I have done “return to sender, wrong address” on everything I’ve gotten for them but still getting multiple things.

I just called the Douglas County Treasurer office and they said there’s nothing they can do because they don’t require proof of address when registering a car. Is that true? It’s been a while since I initially registered mine (not just renewed online), so don’t remember exactly what was needed but I could’ve sworn you needed proof of address. Does it seem crazy that they won’t do anything?

Moving Asset Living Issues

• Upvotes

Hi all.

I moved to Omaha in 2023 and started renting an apartment owned and managed by Greenslate Management. I wouldnt say things were amazing, but they fixed things as they came up, I even got a discount at Powerlife just for living there. They also hosted events which was cool.

I think it was late 2025 or early 2026, they got absorbed by Asset Living out of nowhere. It’s been nothing but issues since. They took 3 months to fix my front door, that was broken and I was genuinely worried about my safety, among other things.

I have now found water damage and black mold in my bathroom and am waiting on a response from them. This explains so much btw, I have been super sick on and off for months and I was going crazy trying to figure out why I was so sick all of the sudden. The work order was submitted on Monday, and they haven’t even acknowledged it.

Any advice?

Unfortunately my lease doesn’t end until 2028 - They sneakily extended it without me noticing when I complained about unexplained “community fees” in my rent ledger earlier this year. After complaining 3 months in a row about sneaky fees that weren’t on my lease, they sent me a new one which apparently had a different lease end date. I didn’t even notice. Which is my bad, I get that.

I am considering sending a 14/30 day notice since it’s almost Friday and I haven’t heard anything. According to tenant laws, they have 14 days to fix the mold or I can legally terminate my lease due to unsafe conditions. Legal aid website helped me draft a 14/30 day letter but I’m scared to lose my housing as my credit is not great.

If anything I urge you all to AVOID Asset Living.

ISO/Suggestion Home radiator repair

Post image
5 Upvotes

With the chilly weekend ahead we went to turn on the boiler in an old Victorian we are working on and one of the old cast iron radiators sprung a leak. They are original to the house and I would rather find someone to repair it rather than replace it. Does anyone know who in town I can call? It has been a long evening and I appreciate this sub and everyone so much!

Other Donate to Dental Care for Blackened Teeth, organized by S S

Hello world!

I’m not showing my face or sharing my real name because at this point, I’m super embarrassed as to why I’m asking for donations. I have 3 teeth turning black as I can’t afford to go to the dentist. I’m living on my own for the first time in my life. I’m in my late thirties. The reason I can’t afford to go to the dentist is because I struggle daily being able to afford just the basics. And year after year it gets worse. When I thought I would be able to afford to go, my breaks go out, then I needed a full set of tires. This year I’ve had my gas shut off once, my cell phone disconnected twice, and almost a monthly struggle to pay rent. I go at least ten days a month without food, trying to survive.

I know practically everyone is struggling these days but I don’t know what else to do. I’ve already had one tooth extracted due to it being shattered. I know at least one more will be, that is black. The black is quickly rising to the top of my tooth. When I floss the areas of the three blackened teeth, the floss immediately shreds in two. I noticed them turning black when I had my mental health medications increased. I’m not on drugs other than prescriptions, and I do have a job. I’ve gone through my 401k just to barely keep my head above water. It’s seriously been a struggle living alone for the first time and trying to figure everything out. I also got a message from my psychiatrist’s office that if I don’t make a payment, they’ll send it to collections. Which I don’t want to have happen as I do owe the money. And I also don’t want the office to drop me as a patient because I love the doctor I have. I’ve been seeing them for more than a decade. I just desperately need help. Anything at all that you can donate, I would be more than grateful for. Nor would I ever forget. I do have one ask. And that is if you could share this. I’m probably one of very few that doesn’t have social media. I too got consumed with doom scrolling over 15 years ago and decided to delete all social media platforms. Thank you all for reading this.

ISO/Suggestion Electrician Recommendations

I’ve been getting quotes to have my panel upgraded and to also have power to my garage for an EV charger. The problem is that I’m getting very inconsistent information on what’s needed to do the upgrade and bring my house up to code.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an electrician that could speak to all what is needed plus making it up to code?

Shitpost Muddy Paws Rescue

Just saying, don't even contact them unless you like getting played with and your time wasted. Just sharing our experience for awareness in case you're looking for a rescue at some point.

Went through the whole thing. Application, they called references, we did a home visit, we did a pet meet. All this time they said we were one of two families they considered. Already I'm like, you're gonna interview and pick winners for a rescue dog? Weak. You check into someone, do the meet up, and if they match they get the dog, that's how it works. You don't play whatever YOUR favorite family is, completely irrelevant.

So we get told "no" to the dog, because we don't have another dog already. Um, then you need to say that, because you wasted your time and ours and our daughter's emotions now after showing her this dog you brought to our home. Even if we did get it that means another family would be let down after the same treatment. Ass fucking backward. Glad my previous rescue didn't jerk people around like this.

Toying with people and leading them on saying "oh I'd pick you if I could it's a hard choice" then making up a reason that you never once mentioned....

If you enjoy wasting 2 weeks of your time and disappointing your kids check them out. If not, absolutely look for a rescue elsewhere.

Local Question Does USPS ever mark y’all’s packages as delivered but it's not actually there?

Paid well over a grand for a custom ECU and wiring harness for my project car. I just got home from work and checked the tracking a few minutes ago for the very first time. My package was marked as “Delivered, Front Door/Porch” @ noon. I live in an apartment building with controlled access. Went to all the neighboring buildings in my complex to check if it was mis-delivered but I can’t see anything through the other buildings doors that would be big enough to match what I bought. Saw online that a bunch of folks from all over have had this happen. Figured I’d ask y’all to see if anything like that has happened to you guys. Gonna go to my apt office first thing in the morning then hit the post office afterwards if nothing comes of that

ISO/Suggestion Dryer vent cleaning professionals?

Any recs for someone to clean out our dryer vent? It’s in the basement venting up and out. I had major surgery recently and don’t want to stand on the washer for 15 minutes trying to jam the far end back onto the port in the wall.
