Answered OM5ii and 14-150, how does it physically feel?

I want a one lens travel setup (when conditions are good), so the plan is OM5ii plus the 14-150. I also have PL15 f1.7 and a couple of others.

The lens being 280ish grams and somewhat long make my wonder how it feels, as I've come from high end P&S and bridge cameras.

  1. How does it feel to carry it all day in a crossbody strap?

  2. Does it feel unbalanced when carrying it?

  3. Am I supposed to hold the body and/or lens as well?

  4. Does the length of the lens apply too much stress on the mounting point if I leave it unsupported?

Gear Showcase Selling my e-p7 today to buy new PEN - good move?

I went to see the new PEN yesterday and although it's bigger, it's not that much bigger and with the EVF, PDAF, etc. I think it's worth the upgrade. I priced my e-P7 to sell on FB Marketplace last night, and I already came to terms with the buyer. Anyone in the same boat?

Also, the retailer only has the PEN with the small kit lens. I have the collapsible Panny 12-32 lens already, which is smaller, which I use on my GM5. Should I opt for the new OM 14-45 lens for $100 more than the body only? It's weather sealed, so that in itself may make it worth it. Thoughts?

Question 40-150 f/2.8 lens spare parts

As you can see I appear to have lost the ring around the front of the lens. I'm assuming it's mainly cosmetic, but maybe I'm wrong. Should I bother replacing it and where might I find a spare part?

Answered Stylus sh-60 charger

Hi everyone, I just bought a Olympus Stylus sh-60 as an anniversary gift for my girlfriend. The seller should have included the original charger, however he "forgot it" (honestly I don't really know what to think) and is willing to give me the money in order to buy a new one from Amazon. Which one should I buy to get a good quality charger?

Question Any word/rumors on a potential TG-8?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in need of a TG-series camera, but I’m hesitant to pick up a TG-7 right now in case the TG-8 is around the corner.

Has anyone heard any solid rumors, registry leaks, or factory news about a TG-8 release date? Is there any chance we see it in early 2027, or should I just go ahead and get a TG-7 now?

Appreciate any insight!

Answered Can any micro USB cable able to charge em10 mark IV? And is this camera great for starter in 2026?

Well basically the title. I want to buy this camera but the guy who sells it doesn't have any charger or cable and camera out of battery so I can't test it. I don't want to waste money on a cable that I will never use so here I am?

He sells it with olympus 45mm F1.8 lens. Is this camera and lens OK for starter? I just want to start photography and take pictures when I walk around. There is also a 12 50mm olympus lens another guy sells it. I can also try to get that later for wider shots.

Question Favorite recipes/color profiles for the OM-3

Tried looking but couldn't find a very recent thread about people's favourite recipes.

I just got the camera recently and have been trying a lot of color profiles shared by creators and the omrecipe website and the OM official website as well but was curious about what others are using.

Looking forward to the community's responses!

Question Just got my Camera, now im looking for a Lens!

I just got the OM-D E-M10 Mark II for my Birhtday (YIPPIEEE) but only the Kit. I am looking for a Lens now but i have absolutely no Idea about Cameras. It should be as compact as possible, because i want to take it Hiking / Walking around the City. These are also the kind of photos i want to shoot, Nature, Architecture but i also would like to do Portraits, this wont be my main use tho, i just would like a good allrounder. My budget is 200€ and i live in Europe.

Thank you for any recommendations! <3

Answered OM 50–200mm f/2.8 PRO with teleconverters vs. Sony a1 II + 70–200mm GM II + 2× TC for small birds?

I currently use an OM-3 with the 100–400mm IS II, and I’m considering the 50–200mm f/2.8 IS PRO. My main concern is fine feather detail when photographing distant small birds and cropping heavily.

The full-resolution samples I’ve seen look good with the bare lens, but some MC-20 samples look noticeably softer. I’m particularly interested in how the lens performs with the MC-14 at 280mm f/4.

Has anyone compared the following when shooting from the same distance and cropping to a similar final field of view?

  • 50–200mm + MC-14 at 280mm, cropped to an 800mm-equivalent field of view
  • 50–200mm + MC-20 at 400mm
  • 100–400mm IS II at 400mm

Full-resolution JPEGs or RAW files would be really helpful, especially shots of distant small birds rather than close-up subjects.

My other option is to buy a Sony a1 II. I already own the FE 70–200mm f/2.8 GM II and SEL20TC 2× teleconverter, so I would use them with the new body.

Has anyone used both this Sony setup and the OM 50–200mm with teleconverters for bird photography? How do they compare in terms of fine feather detail after cropping to similar framing, autofocus acquisition, and tracking birds in flight?

I realize these setups have different native fields of view and sensor resolutions, but I’m interested in the final results I could get from the same shooting position.

Thanks!
