New Ocarina Day! New ocarina from The Crow Collective
I recently just received a DAC from The Crow Collective and I love it. (I'll try to record something with it before the end of Ocatober)

Have an ocarina question? There is no such thing as a stupid question.
Want to talk about what you're learning or excited about a new ocarina, feel free to share!
Is there's something not ocarina related that you're itching to talk about? Have at it!

Day 18 progress since owning night of noble AC
I’m trying to play by ear so there were a few uncertain notes. Are there any suggestions to how to make the tone of my ocarina playing a bit warmer? When I listen to others’ recordings, I hear the mellow and rich sounds of ocarina whereas mine sounds quite sharp.

I'm a beginner trying to learn to play the ocarina, I have a soprano C which I have played semi-frequently, but sometimes it gets annoying hearing the same notes repeating at high pitch.
So I was looking to get an Alto C, but I'm not sure which to get, I like the look of the Imperial City and Stein ocarinas and have heard them rated highly, but I'm not sure which to get.
Any ideas would be great.
Note: I'm in Australia, just for shipping and some specific recommendations.

Someone else might be able to do a better job than me, but some of the pitch changes in this song are more subtle than I can seem to manage.

I'm just looking for a cheap 6 hole pendant ocarina that sounds pretty good. The reviews say and show it sounding pretty decent, but I'm not the most experienced so I don't know for sure if it's good, and I don't know if LMS is a good company do be buying ocarinas from. Focalink and Songbird obviously have good ones, but I don't have $40 to spend on a pendant, sadly.

Edit: Solved (my ocarina sucks lol), thanks for the info!!
Hey all, I just started playing the ocarina! I'd like to preface that the only other (wind) instrument I play is Bb Clarinet (for 7 years). I believe I have the 12 hole C Ocarina, and it's ceramic. This Ocarina was not originally mine (passed on from my sister) and is at least 10 years old. I can't tell if it's just a me problem, but the notes seem REALLY out of tune. The notes sound extremely flat, especially low D and B. Any reason why this might be happening? I have pretty good breath support and generally have skill in covering holes properly from my clarinet.

I'm not even really sure what the brand is...

I am still very new but thought to use Ocatober challenge to start daily practices when I got my ocarina around end of September. The video includes 4 Zelda songs - song of time, Zelda’s lullaby, serenade of water and song of storms. I’m still having some difficulty with Sarina’s song final part so hopefully can complete by end of October.
I still need a lot of work on high notes E and F. Is there a way to blow hard to get the right pitch without note sounding very rushed or forceful? I feel these high notes sound disjointed in my playing.

A song I recently discovered and love playing it on my Double ocarinas. Not sure if I like it in D better or in G haha
It's just a video with my smart phone, the real sound of the ocarina is a lot better.
Enjoy OcAtober 😊🤗

Hope it's ok to post a very informal multiple choice survey here! I'm looking for people who started playing the ocarina because of The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time! It's just one multiple choice question, but there's a place to talk about your experiences in more depth which would really help me out!

Hello, I’m new to the ocarina and I’ve been playing for a few weeks, and while I’m getting the hang of it pretty ok, I am finding myself feeling a bit limited by the instrument’s range. (I’m used to playing instruments with a much larger range of notes like the violin and piano)
I know I can transpose things to different keys to be able to play it, but some stuff sounds a bit off to me when I have to switch to another octave in the middle of a song because the instrument doesn’t reach as high or as low as I need to go.
I know there are double and triple chamber ocarinas, but I wanted to ask which one would be the easiest transition once I fully master the 12 hole C?

I don't have a metronome but I imagine it would do wonders for playing this song.

Old video from this summer of me playing the Rotter Bass C.
The song is called Molly Malone.
I really love the bass C but I happen to not play it very often because my hands get tired from the weight pretty quickly.
Let's enjoy our moths Ocatober together 🌻😊

I'm currently trying to figure out whether I'd prefer an ICO BC Double or Triple for my first multi-chamber.
The price difference is only ~10% more for triple which is no problem, but the weight is 50% more which seems substantial. I love the idea of having more range, but want something that's still confortable to play.
Coming from an AC Single, the highest notes are already a bit too shill for me, so I'm not sure the extra upper range is really something I'd want to use a lot.
I'm not knowledgeable or skilled enough for a multi just yet, but how I'm imagining playing one would be taking what I can already play on my single and just dropping it down an octave so the music isn't so shrill, while still getting some extra range to open up opportunity for new pieces.
All this leaves me thinking a BC Double probably makes the most sense, yet I have no experience with either. Is there something obvious I'm missing here? That it would be foolish to not just get the BC Triple, or even BC Single instead?
Lastly, looking at the fingering charts for these, I noted this piece of text that I can't understand the reason for, featured on the Single AC and Double BC, but not the Single BC or Triple BC: "Notes are written one octave lower than actual pitch."
Any thoughts what this means or where I'd go to learn more about it? I feel like it's something to do with transposing, which is something else I don't really understand just yet.

I'm an ex childhood transverse flute player whose teacher made them lose passion for the instrument.
I've been longing into playing a wind instrument again and stumbled upon ocarinas, I found this one (the Aria) that sounded easy to learn for someone with my profile.
Unfortunately I'm based in Italy and the listing on OcarinaKing EU results empty(?).
Does anyone know where I could go get myself one without paying 30 dollars + import tax from STL Ocarinas?
The SAPLING in F Major interests me too if I really can't find anything though I noticed the price on this side of the ocean looks to be incredibly inflated.
Any suggestions are welcome, consider me a complete novice
