ā“General Question / Advice 21k Salary

• Upvotes

Hello, I want to ask for your opinion po about this matter. I currently work as a Company Nurse and my basic salary is 21k. When I applied at the company, I was still waiting for the board exam results. During the initial interview over the phone, they ask me what salary do I expect. I said whatever they think I deserve so the HR did not ask more questions.

Now when I attended the final interview, I got confused by the General Manager cause she asked me what is the salary of Nurses in Hospital so I answered maybe 21-25k. Then I saw her write the 21k in my resume. She did not ask me for my expected salary or if Im okay with it. I did not ask cause I dont want them to think Im just for the money.

And then I just had our Oath taking ceremony and the BON said we should never settle for less. Now my friends were talking about salary and their basic salary were around 28k above. I feel so sad so whenever they talk about it tumatahimik nalang ako.

I want to ask if I could get a raise in salary. I work 12 hours (I have 4 hours OT) and they have 2 companies and nagduduty ako don both, bale shifting per week. I accepted the 21k because I’m not yet a licensed nurse at that time. I did not say that I am not going to ask for a raise. I feel really undercompensated. I feel so unmotivated and there are times I want to cry cause I feel like I dont deserve the salary I get. I’m at fault too cause I already signed the contract stating that my basic salary is 21k.

What to do :(((

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers RANT + ADVICES (NEWLY PASSED RN)

Hi Kuya/Ate RN's!

Just wanna share here that I got accepted as a Company Nurse sa isang shipping lines company. The offer is VERY GOOD (yes capslock po opo) + allowances pa and 15mins away lang sa bahay.

So now while working here i'm also reviewing for my NCLEX since waiting nalang ako for my eligibility + naka-enroll po ako sa german language school.

Anyways, so to cut it short, dream ko talaga magbedside kaso sobrang baba ng offer (manila area) as in barat kung barat talaga. Plan ko is to get certification for Deutsch language, B2 level, then eventually by God's grace makaland ng job pa germany/austria/netherlands nang walang bedside exp at tanging language certificate lang ang pang laban HAHAHAHAH

now ko narealize na lowkey ganda pala ng kursong to kase parang ang daming pwedeng side quest ang pasukin JSJAHAHAHAHAHAH

anyways, goods po ba yang plan ko? if u have advice (pls be kind poooo)

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers Looking for Part-Time Work for a Registered Nurse in the Philippines

Hi everyone! I'm posting on behalf of my sister-in-law, a Registered Nurse (RN) with 4 years of healthcare experience. She's currently looking for a part-time job and is hoping to find an opportunity as soon as possible.

She's open to relevant opportunities where she can apply her nursing knowledge and experience, including remote or work-from-home positions if available.

If you know of any hospitals, clinics, healthcare companies, or organizations hiring part-time nurses, healthcare assistants, medical virtual assistants, or other suitable roles, please let me know in the comments or send me a DM.

I'd greatly appreciate any leads, referrals, or recommendations. Thank you so much for your help!

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers Want to work and stay in Makati!

***Here to ask for help, not for unsolicited rude opinions.***

Hello guys! 23M here. Just wondering if u guys have any ideas on job opportunities for an RN (who lowkey wants to change career) somewhere in Makati.

I'm considering soft nursing job opportunities or even Barista. I think I already found a place to stay and just wanted to find a job to pay for it. I won't be relying solely on that specific job opportunity, since I currently have a side hustle.

Idk, I just feel like I'm gravitating towards the idea of living in Makati as a very meticulous individual. And yes, i know it's not that easy. But if there's a will there's a way.

Aside from that, I have a pending application to one of the hospitals kilometers away from there. Just wanted to spend my waiting time earning and growing some skills.

TYIA!

šŸ”ŽSeeking Recommendations Nursing as a Second Degree

Hello Nurses!

This thought has been bugging me for a few months now. I’d like to ask for advice sana for those who’ve done the same or with similar background.

For context: I’m 31F, BSBA Marketing, 5 years as CSR, 4 years combined sa WFM and Analytics.

May iba kong school (DCLC, MMC-CAST, Manila Tytana) na napag tanungan, some says 3 years, Tytana 4 years parin daw pero lighter load sa mga unang sems because wala na ibang minor.

I want to ask din sana ung realistic timeline para makaalis.

Thanks sa mga sasagot.

✈ Working Abroad USRN Career Path: Is Bedside Nursing Experience Necessary, or Can I Pursue Medical VA Work Before Moving Abroad?

Hi, nurses! I would really appreciate your advice po. 🄹

I’m a Batch 2024 RN with no bedside experience. My experience so far has been in a non-bedside nursing role, and I recently found an NCLEX sponsorship opportunity through a BPO company. The offer is good, but it comes with a 2-year employment bond.

Right now, I’m torn between pursuing bedside nursing experience or accepting the offer and starting my NCLEX journey through this company.
My long-term goal is to work and live in the US, but I honestly don’t know which pathway would be best for me. I’m also unfamiliar with the different immigration and employment pathways for nurses, especially since I don’t have any family in the US who could petition or guide me through the process.
For those who have been in a similar situation or have experience working abroad, I would really appreciate your advice po.

Would it be better to gain bedside experience first, or is it still a good decision to accept the NCLEX sponsorship and work in a BPO company for two years? Would having non-bedside experience affect my chances of getting a USRN job with visa sponsorship in the future?
I’m afraid of making a decision now that might delay my goal of working abroad. I’m hoping to learn from your experiences and insights.

Thank you so much po! ā¤ļø

šŸ„ Jobs / Careers Planning to apply for nursing assistant

Hello po! When applying for nursing assistant/aide, can I ask po ba kung tumatanggap po sila ng 4th year undergrad and ano yung mga requirements/certificates na hinahanap or need when applying?

I’m currently a 4th year nursing student. Last sem na po namin pero ang taas po ng chance na magstop ako dahil sa financial problem. Ang laki na ng balance sa school and I’m desperately finding ways para kahit magstop makatulong pa rin ako sa parents ko. :(((

I am a new RN and I received an email from a talent acquisition personnel saying they received my application from Jobstreet. I did not apply to any jobs on said site—I don't even remember using Jobstreet.

I researched the company and they look legit naman. I'm open sa kahit anong job because I need one hahahaha. Do you guys have any experience with this Omega Healthcare? Need ba ng experience and do they hire new grad PHRNs?
