Ask How do I look and dress fruity?
I’m afab non-binary and more masculine leaning to neutral in my style, but I get called a “girl” or “lady” so much that I think people just assume I’m a tomboy. Not that there’s anything wrong with being that, but I want to play up my queerness a bit more in how I dress. I know it’s a bit easier for amab people to convey this with feminine accessories etc. I do want to start wearing more colour, as I love colour, but I don’t really have time to pile on accessories in the morning and also don’t want to get piercings/dyed hair which is often associated with the lgbtq+ community in general and nonbinary people.
Iris Olympia has an excellent YouTube channel with plenty of NB fashion content and tutorials, although their style is a lot more edgy and muted in its colour scheme than mine. I want to look a bit more “loud and proud” without spending an hour getting dressed. I love how people look when they’re covered in pride accessories and pins, but I find they just fall off or get lost if I try this :/
I am thinking of getting some more colourful clothing pieces, eg striped shirts, flannels. I have been thrifting and found a lot of the men’s clothing is very dark in colour, also maybe some polymer clay rainbow jewellery because that isn’t masculine or feminine to me.
Any tips?
