Research on Roland Juno’s - do you use them?
Hi! My name is Dr Jess Blaise Ward (@blaisejess Insta/bluesky) and I am a composer, producer, synth artist and author. I recently published my book on synthwave: ‘Making Synthwave: how an online music community invented a genre’
I am currently doing some research on the legacy and use cases of Roland Juno synths (inclusive of hardware, software, any Juno “inspired” or emulating synths too!). If you are a producer, synth user, composer, etc - please consider taking my survey and contributing your thoughts and opinions of Juno synths:
Link to my book ‘Making Synthwave’
All data will be anonymised and used only for the purposes of academic research (at synthesizer conferences and in academic journals).
Thanks so much! Mods let me know if this goes against guidelines, happy to make edits or remove.

Spotify Korkikrac-Cesium 137 (Tomorrow's killer)
"Cesium 137 (Tomorrow’s Killer)" is a melancholic darksynth track built on dark basslines, retro synth textures, and textured vocals. It blends gloomy 80s nostalgia with a sombre, dystopian mood.
Hope you enjoy the atmosphere!

Soundcloud Sky Fantastic - Tenalock
I have been working on a lot of music that is futuresynth/chillwave between making a melodic classic synthwave album with some pop feel. It really helps keep a fresh head when being creative. Well I hope you enjoy it, there seems to be dramatic shift away from being bombarded with ai slop. It seems if something isn't monetized, people suddenly can't be bothered to rort the system any longer. Lets hope!

Genre subreddits should be a place of interaction and discovery
… so I have an idea… that might even be not new, but at least is an idea intended on trying to bring back the vibrancy that the scene used to have because it’s not lack of people making music, but instead an algorithm driven behavior by poor decisions made by Reddit. Imho. And synthwave as community always relied on Reddit, let’s not fool ourselves.
But I digress. My idea is the following take if you’re an artist your best song the one you think should be a hit and post here. Only one song, please to avoid being an unfair with artists with don’t have a large production output.
Many of us artists or not who dwell on those Synthwave subreddits have playlists, right? So if you bump into this thread, listen to some songs and the ones you like, add to your playlist if you have a playlist. And also promote your own playlist on your socials or even on Reddit itself: be an ambassador to the genre.
It’s time to be passionate about the music we make and listen again: how come this was lost? The music itself is still being made, but the fandom itself is now divided by islands of sorts.
So let’s start right now. Drop your link on the comments. One song per project/artist please.
EDIT: ideas that build on or improve this one are welcome. I didn’t have a lot of time to iron this out.
EDIT 2: of course, don’t post generative music.
