Can anyone tell me if this is a gut threaded Kewa necklace? I think it looks like it could be, but I’ve never had one. If it is gut threaded, how would one go about caring for it?
Thank you very much

Unidentified Looking for information on a sterling silver turquoise and lapis pendant signed “JD Sterling,” possibly John Duran

Hi everyone! I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me learn more about a piece from my personal jewelry collection.

It's a sterling silver pendant featuring turquoise and lapis inlay, with a hallmark reading "JD Sterling." From my research, I've come across the name John Duran, but I haven't been able to find much information about the silversmith or confidently verify the attribution.

The pendant weighs 9.78 grams, and it came with a beautiful handmade sterling silver chain measuring approximately 24 inches.

I'd love to know if anyone recognizes the hallmark, knows anything about John Duran's work, or has an idea of when this piece might have been made.

I'm also curious whether the chain might be original to the pendant.

I've included several photos, including close-ups of the hallmark.

Any information would be greatly appreciated! I enjoy learning the history behind the pieces I've collected.

For reference, this cuff was purchased in northern Arizona around 1999/2000 but I believe it to be older as it was advertised Old Pawn. It’s been in my collection a long time and I don’t plan to sell, just curious about the maker, year, and value. It’s heavy! 116 grams and about 6.5mm thick. Any help would be greatly appreciated (I already referenced the hallmark guide with no luck) Thank you!

Unidentified Old Pawn Belt Buckle iD Request

Hi, all.I'm hoping to get some help with the idea of this belt buckle.I got it off of a scrap heap , someone was trying to just toss it for scrap , but I noticed an interesting signature on the back. HLC 1903 -89 and a double crossed arrow. I cleaned a little bit on the back so that I could see the signature wasn't clear if it was a j , h , but it's clearly HLC.

Any help in attributing this signature would be very helpful and appreciated.

Does anyone know how old this wampum ring could be? Also, what does the mark next to sterling mean? Could it be a trading post mark?

Only hallmark is the one on the feather ring (and a STERLING stamp on the hoop dancer kachina). Any help identifying who made it would be appreciated, Google didn’t pull anything up

Not Native American Concho Belt Stone ID

Thumbnail

I bought this concho belt in the late 1980s at a flea market in Phoenix . I can’t figure out the pink stone. It’s not resin or plastic as I took a hot needle to it didn’t react to heat. The stones remain cool to the touch. The stones vary in color and thickness. There are striations running through them. There are 2 tiny pieces of coral on each concho. No hallmarks on any of the conchos. My guess it’s not NA and is a died milky glass? Any other ideas what the pink stone is?

It still had the price on it. I can’t believe I paid $75 . That was a lot of dinero for me back then.

Discussion (text posts) Can this be repaired?

Thumbnail

I bought this when I was a senior in high school and wore it almost everyday for 10 years. I have tiny wrists and it eventually started to break. I had 3 jewelers tell me they could not repair it - basically it was too much work and too tedious because the stones would come loose. I finally found a jeweler willing to repair it. He soldered it together and it broke the first time I tried putting it on. I didn't squeeze it or anything.

My thought is that maybe it can be attached to a more solid cuff or something? Or is it just broken forever? I love this bracelet - it's my most favorite piece.

Discussion (text posts) Beatrice Kee? Belt Buckle

Thinking this belt buckle is by the artist Beatrice Kee. Was trying to find information about the artist online but seems to be quite limited. Wondering if anybody has any biographical information on this particular artist. I really love the stamp work. If you think this is a different artist I would be interested in your thoughts. I did reference the website often noted here. I really love to try to research the artist to find out more about their life but it's often very hard to find information on Native American jewelry artists. Thanks in advance for your help. Any thoughts insights or feedback on this is greatly appreciated. :)

All purchased directly from the artists in Santa Fe NM. I don’t wear the rings much but stack two bracelets daily. The far left bracelet by Randy Secatero is the one that started it all 10 years ago.

Unidentified Picked up this tiny pendant stamped sterling and this ring which says sterling co 5. I can’t make out if it says more on the ring under the band? Can anyone make out more of the hallmark? I’m also curious if people think the ring is a green turquoise or different stone possibly? Thanks

Discussion (text posts) Picked up this lot of rings today. Only one of them (on the far left) has a hallmark on it but these were about $125 in all so I can’t complain! All look NA to me personally and I think one is sandcast. (On the far right)

Picked this up today and wondering if people think it's an authentic Thomas Singer piece or a fake. I'm reading online that a lot of his items were faked by other producers non-native. If it is real I'm wondering what people would estimate the value to be and any information you can provide on this would be so greatly appreciated. It looks like it can be used as a pin or pendant which I love. Thanks in advance. :)

Hello all,

This lipstick case belonged to my mother. It was made by the Cochiti Pueblo silversmith Joe Herrera Quintana (JHQ), and is decorated with small triangles with lines in them. I was wondering what, if anything, these markings symbolize?

Thanks!

Can anyone give me a realistic gallery price you’d see on a work like this by Joe Tortalita? I love the turquoise in this, it appears to be natural Royston.

Total weight is 46G.
Thank you all as always (:
