Tailgaters defeat the Bananas in the first ever Banana Bowl...and the home team still hasn't won a championship game in Nats Park.
Just saying.
At least this game was a lot more fun than World Series games 3-5. But then I'm not invested in the Bananas like I was the Nats. And the Nats did just fine in Houston.

It’s a red and white baseball team in DC, we’re claiming this one- right?

Tbh I didn’t know the Bananas could lose I thought they were like the Globetrotters

The game is unscripted but all the antics are. At least that’s the premise, there was some controversy with one of the playoff games that some people believe backs up the theory that the games aren’t real but I think a non Banana team winning the championship either proves it’s real or is great scripting.

They are but all the teams are the same level. Just like in any sport, any team can win on any given night.

How come the Bananas can get fireworks? I thought the reason they stopped shooting them off at Nats games was due to fire marshal orders.

Have you been to a nats game this year? They have had fireworks

Yes, I went to two games this season. Sept 1 against the Braves and Sept 12 against the Angels. Neither game had fireworks.
I’ve also listened to 15+ years of radio broadcasts where Charlie Slowes HR call is “Bang, Zoom!” Instead of “Bang, Zoom Go the Fireworks!”. Because there aren’t any fireworks.

Friday Night Fireworks is a regular thing after Nats games.

They're talking about in-game fireworks that shoot off from the scoreboard, not the big fireworks shot from the Anacostia after Friday night summer games.

I’m a bit of a boomer so I need help… is this a serious post?

Yes, as to the facts if it. The Nats have played three WS games at Nats Park, 2019 games 3-5. They lost all of them (becoming the first sports franchise in any league to win a seven game championship with four road wins).
Last night in the Banana Bowl, the Tailgaters were the visiting team (they hit first) while the Savannah Bananas were the home team. The Bananas lost.

I was at 2 of the 3 games at home and I went to game 7 in Houston. No home team won a single game. We won the WS dude no point being hurt about it
I was also there to see us boat race stl to win the pennant so it’s not like there weren’t good moments at home

I'm not remotely hurt about it. It's an absurd fact is all. We are now the only team in history with not only a championship but no home wins, but also a championship won in our home stadium by a visiting team we didn't face.

It’s an independent minor league baseball team more closely akin to the Harlem globetrotters than anything else. This is all foolish. I’m going outside. You should too.

I've rarely seen someone completely misread a comment before.
Op was just stating facts, you thought he was angry?

One of you should definitely take a little nap, and it ain't OP. Why are you so upset about this?

The Tailgaters deserved to win Banana Bowl I. The Bananas are overrated.
