He will never be a Hall of Famer, never a stat leader, only an all star for one season. But God damn, he is a World Series champion. And a massive part of that thanks to his contributions. Nobody will ever take that away from him. Immortalized in Nationals history.
Thank you, Howie!

I still have a print out of him on his home run in game 7 hanging on the wall. It's never coming down

I am so happy I was able to get Dave's call of this. I know I keep saying it, but god damn are we spoiled with him and Charlie.

I was at the watch party and am in the video at the very end. I was supposed to leave the game to go pick my husband up at National, but I texted him that he was going to have to Uber home because I wasn’t leaving the watch party. It was the most amazing night! And, this wasn’t the last amazing thing Howie would do.

Motion to rename Oct. 9 "Joe Kelly Appreciation Day."

More like Playoff Kershaw appreciation day. We're not even in that situation if Roberts didn't put him in.

This entire run of that particular postseason was the greatest show on Earth 🌎. Washington was not going down without a fight, and the World Series Championship 🏆 has a curly W on it. #CurlyW

Really was a magical season. Guys like Kendrick and Eaton were classic Rizzo additions. That team was a perfect mix of draft and develop (Strasburg, Rendon, Turner, Zimmerman) and sharp, smart trades or free agent acquisitions (Scherzer, Kendrick, Eaton, Soto, etc).

Great times man. Great times. That was so much fun to watch. Howie will always and forever be a legend and a hero. Fucking love that guy.

I was watching the game in bed with the sound down. I thought I could do it quietly but I woke the wife up banging my hand on the mattress when that went out

Has Howie Kendrick ever bought a beer in the city after this? Because if so, shame on us.

The Dodgers fans streaming out is the best. That and the shot of Sad Kershaw.

Really? It's not Charlie's call of the World Series title?

Close but this is better, finally beating the Dodgers in a do or die situation. This changed everything after so much heartbreak the previous seasons.

Agreed. The moment in time was better because of all the loses to them.
Beating the Astros was great--almost nothing beats a title, especially a 7 game with Kendrick repeating heroics. And then learning they were the Trashtros was the cherry on top.
But the Nationals didn't have the rivalry with the Astros compared to the Dodgers to make it as exultant in the moment.

This was the most hype moment in our team’s history, legit this was more epic than his game 7 homer

I'll never forget how happy I was for Howie and all the Nationals fans. We were on the verge of a WS Championship.

Best thing I have ever seen in person. Felt the air physically leave the stadium, it was incredible.

The perk about only winning once is you don’t get the big moments confused with other championships.
