A big thanks to participants & the Open Source Luxembourg team!
I'm in Australia and currently considering a purchase of one of the phones available on the website to replace my ageing Pixel 7 (it has charging issues and is starting to slow down).
I'd like to get some recommendations on A) The best/best-value phone to buy, and B) How well the phones on sale work with Aussie Telecoms (particularly after the new VoLTE regulations and Vodafone's crusade against "unapproved devices").
I'd be grateful for any insight, especially from other Australian customers.
I'd love to be able to customize what does the fairphone 6 switch do, with more possibilities including "send public intent" (so other apps can see when we toggle it and to which state), so developers could build their own apps around this switch.
Me, as a developer, would love to build some functionality around that.
I'm trying to figure out how I opt which apps to backup and which to not. I have noticed that apps being backed up is closed, and I wonder if that might be the reason my VPN is turned off (Integrity) and if I then can say that it should not bother with this app. I have quite a few applications which aren't important for backu.
I've turned off "driver assistance", not sure what that is. I can't find any other setting that would apply. But it's still nagging. I just want the app to stop saying "mind your speed" when I go over the speed limit. Seems like whatever setting I enter, the nagging continues anyway.
Another weird thing: the voice that says "mind your speed" is not the voice I selected in settings.
The /e/OS web installer finally moves to the /e/OS brand theme - same look and feel as the doc and builds sites now - colors, typography, buttons, alerts and more - all consistent across the 3 services.
