I'M REQUESTING family gathering gone wrong

it doesn't have to be necessarily about a family, but i'm looking for movies where a group of people gather for a normal get together, and then things get worse and worse and everything goes to shit. it can be any genre and language.

examples: you're next, the invitation, coherence, silent night, game night

thanks.

Not a normal get together but you might like The Royal Tenenbaums.

Came here to say this. It’s a really fun movie. “If you don’t mind, the corpse still has the floor!”

The celebration (fasten) is perfect for this. It definitely goes downhill but in a dark emotional way.

Real Life (1979) - Comedy/Satire Movie

Family is selected to have a documentary crew follow them around in their ordinary lives, but the presence of the director and crew keeps screwing everything up.

Satire on the real documentary series An American Family (1973), which by the end the real family parents were divorced because of making the show.

I would give a nod to "City Island". The climax of all the story lines don't happen at a specific event (like Thanksgiving or a wedding), but like all comical farces, they do converge at one time.

you know what. I'm going to double down on this recommendation. I just started a rewatch and it's as good as I remember.
