I'M REQUESTING Serial killer, murder, thrillers I might have missed?

Myself and my niece (20) get together a couple of times a week and watch a movie. She was on a major horror kick but we've exhausted all the good ones. We watched Silence of the Lambs (as a transition from horror) this week and she loved it. She's on for a seriel killer buzz now. I've got some of the usual suspects lined up (Henry, Seven, Zodiac etc) but am just looking for suggestions of some good ones that I may have missed over the years. Not necessarily gore packed (we've probably seen those on the horror kick) but something with lots of weight and atmosphere would be great. Cheers.

It’s so good, but warn her in advance that the computer stuff is hilariously out of date. 😂

Kiss the Girls - Great acting and fantastic film all around. You will both love it.

Taking Lives - I don’t remember this one so much, but I think it fits the bill.

From Hell - One of my spooky season go to’s. It’s a take on Jack the Ripper.

Sweeney Todd - one of my favorite Sondheim musicals and this is a good adaptation to film.

Have fun you two!!

“Snowtown” aka “The Snowtown Murders” (2011) is an Australian move that is based upon the real life events surrounding one of the worst serial killings in Australian history; be warned that it is considered by some to be a particularly physiologically disturbing movie, one that is made worse by the fact that it is based so closely on actual events; as an aside, James Vlassakis (Jamie in the movie) was released on probation a few days ago, under strict supervision, after serving 26 years in prison.

I really dig Korean serial killer movies. They are beautifully shot and well acted. My faves were I saw the Devil and The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil. These are very dark and lean into SA themes, so there's your trigger warning.

In Dreams. It's early RDJ and Annette Bening, has some really interesting ideas and visuals for a 90s killer thriller. Worth a watch if you can find it.

Try Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. It may be old, bu it's so atmospheric and creepy. And the lead actors are unforgettable.

Bakudan is basically the Japanese Se7en, although the main villain doesn’t directly kill his victims.

Synopsis: Bakudan follows a homeless, disheveled man who is arrested in Tokyo for a minor assault. During his police interrogation, he claims to have psychic powers and predicts a series of bomb explosions that will occur across the city one hour apart.

The Clovehitch Killer (2018)

Loosely based on BTK and stars Dylan McDermott

It's worth a watch, but there are a few unintentionally hilarious moments
