I have been in the Pool in SD for over a month now.
So far I have noticed CSU has lost track of me (After my detailer put me in classes they said I never attended, and I left a hotel) and so far twice have yet to acknlowledge my morning checks in.

I am just curious I have went to MSC Civmar Support, gave them a run down, they said they'd email them and CC me but haven't see anything, what should I do to ensure that they know I am here? I've been with MSC for a year and don't want to go AWOL or anything because I am trying do everything right.

Woke up this morning to a text confirming that I need to schedule my interview! Very happy to finally hear back! My interview will be in two weeks! Hope all is well with everyone else in the Entry Level waiting pool!

I hope I get engine or deck!

A few weeks ago , I’ve sent out a application for the MSC to apply for the ET position in the engine room. The application has been reviewed and passed hr, my profile has a status delay so I’ve been asking the virtual support for the status update on it they told me that it has passed rating and is in the pending selection stage. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and I don’t know what to expect next. How long does this process usually take and is this a good sign?

Check your text messages, emails, and MSC dashboard!

Y'all gotten a community report for supply/comms yet for October? If so, could I ask for one? You can msg me. Thank you!

Been removing a lot of posts for Rule 3 recently, so I'm tapping the sign. there is no timeline. nobody can tell you how long you will take to get in. it could be anywhere from a week to 2 years before you hear back. I've spoken to an OS who was contacted 10 years after his initial application. nobody knows. any timeline questions will be removed

Hello, is there anyone here that took the UNREP test during stream training? If so, how easy was it?

I did my interview last Wednesday and they told me it would take 2 weeks for me to hear back from them with a decision but I got an email today with a conditional offer for SU. Idk how to go about things though being that I’m with ACL and I am underway right now being one week in to my 28 week contract. I definitely don’t want to miss the opportunity but I also can’t be out of a job until I hear from them. Anybody else go through something similar or have any advice on the situation?

Does anyone know if the wally shirra is one of the ships with wifi???

Hello All, curious to know what everyone's top 5 BEST overall ship experiences, on non open berthing MSC ships are, and why? Trying to get a good first ship. Thanks in advance.

What’s it like working on the USNS GRASP as an OS ? Pros and cons

So apparently there are so many applicants for entry level (approx 800) and they will now be conducting 10 min interviews so decide who will go on to the next round .

While on ship, for food sensitivity like gluten, lactose, or other non-anaphylaxis sensitivities, are there options? For example, is there only milk for cereal or are there non-dairy options? Is there only pasta or is there a choice of rice or pasta at a meal? For anyone with food sensitivity considerations please share your experiences if you are willing.

For those that don't know, a food sensitivity doesn't necessarily mean you can't eat it, but doing so makes your daily life miserable to some degree.

Thanks!

When I was in Norfolk, I remember S&Q being $266. I’m on the west coast and just got a deposit for $228. Is that the amount now?

EDIT: I’m an idiot. I just realized Monday was Labor Day and I’m therefore one day shy of a full week’s worth of S&Q. Lol. I figured it out while reading one of your responses though, so thanks. 🫡 Haha

Hello I’m interested in joining the MSC as a electronics technician but I’m not sure if I have enough experience. I have an associates degree in electronics technology and a GMDSS operator and maintainer license if that matters and a a few months off experience as a controls technician.

Just get your seatime else where, get your ab and apply as that. AB is the new entry level for msc.

Welp I got an update on my hiring status for entry level. Kinda insane because a year ago I was waiting for Neo. I decided to reapply back in July but I lost interest right afterwards

Ps:good luck to those that are selected, wishing u success 🙏

I’m interested in joining (hopefully as an OS) I already have my STCW Basic, VPDSD, Security Awareness on my MMC. Have TWIC, passport, med cert all that.

Will that give me a better shot of getting a spot? Will the process be any faster, I’m seeing it takes damn near a year to get selected and begin employment.

Also is there any indication of when they’ll next be hiring for entry level?

Thanks in advance
