What is genuinely so bad about a victim wanting to get back at their perpetrator? As long as it's not wildly out of proportion compared to what the perpetrator did, I genuinely see no reason why it's an issue.

I’ve noticed that many people argue it’s morally wrong for billionaires to accumulate enormous wealth while others are suffering in poverty, because they have the resources to help but choose not to.

A scenario: Humanity faces a extinction event (ex: Sun is about to blow up) and has ability to transfer all populace to a different safe timeline, but it has it's own version of humanity. The impact of doubling the amount of people on earth is guaranteed to cause horrible consequences and billions of deaths but it will be at least a attempt to save everyone. It was calculated that the safe timelines earth can sustain approximately 500 million people safely without horrible food shortages but they will have to leave everyone else to die in a extinction event. Is it more moral to leave 95 % of humanity to die in order for the 5 % to live safely in a different world, or to doom 2 humanitys to fight for resources in an attempt to save everyone?

In the area where I live near a big lake we have a lot of gators. My neighbors aren't too concerned about wildlife laws, and will take gators illegally if they come up the canal.

When I see them close to the neighborhood I throw rocks at them. My reasoning is I want them to have a healthy fear of humans so they aren't killed. I'm not doing it because I want to hurt them, just the opposite.
