Can’t use any codec besides H.264

I purchased a onn 4k pro (google tv) and when I use the moonlight from the AppStore I can’t use any other codec besides h.264 my iPad lets my use HECV. Is it just the default apps fault or is it the Onn 4k pro?

Use av1 because hevc only works when disabling the low latency hevc in moonlight due to issues with the amlogic chip. I know moonlight v plus allows you to do so, but av1 works better in decode time vs hevc in it.

Just try av1 first and use wifi since ethernet is botched too on the 4k plus and pro

I’m running a 3090 don’t believe it supports av1 but regardless my onn 4k doesn’t work with anything else. I’m on WiFi as well

Dang. You’re right. It doesnt do hw av1. Well, try moonlight v plus hevc or artemide client with hevc and see how it goes.

You have to side load it via putting your Onn device into dev mode to allow installs. Google it.

Hevc should be able to work but it will have high latency unfortunately. I got about 12-13ms decode time vs 3ms av1. You might be stuck with h264 if thats an issue

It could be a issue with the App Store moonlight app, you can try with Artemis or Moonlight V+ you will need to side load them which is pretty easy to do then test to see if you can stream with a different codec.
