Family trip to Monaco 2027
We are looking to book a trip next year for the F1 racing in Monaco and while there, we would like to look into diving with our boys, 22 and 15 years old. We are open water certified, husband is advanced. I would appreciate some recommendations on accommodations, areas to dive/reputable companies, most likely around the Portofino area, so we could eventually make our way to stay in/around Monaco for the race June 6th, 2027. We're open to other suggestions as well. As of now, the only concrete plans we have are the race tickets! TIA!

We recently stayed at the Fairmont and it was beautiful, service was impeccable, rooms were perfect and Amu rooftop restaurant was delicious!

During the Grand Prix they charge ridiculous amounts for the rooms. I did a quick search and they have rooms available- only $36K for the weekend lol! Thank you for the suggestion though! Maybe we could afford the rooftop dinner lol!

During the Grand Prix you’ll be paying that anywhere! Fairmont is normally the most reasonably priced

Not paying that at our Airbnb in Sanremo, Italy! After posting this I did some additional research to better plan our trip and settled in Sanremo. Taking the train from Sanremo to Monaco for the race weekend, then stay around Portofino for the scuba diving, then a night or two in Modena to see the Ferrari and Lamborghini museums. Not sure what to do from there as we’ll most likely have a few days left to explore. Maybe Venice?

But this is the Monaco subreddit - not Italy! You’ll get cheaper the further away you go 😂 you’ll get even better of a price if you stayed in northern France! 😂

Travelling to see Monaco around the f1 weekend is a bad idea imo. Everything I barricaded, people everywhere. And I mean droves. No parking, everything is packed. If you really want to see the f1, just expect lots and I mean LOTS of people.
Monaco is much nicer to discover outside of that time.
