Yeah, I'm giving a talk about converting Lurkers into joining my (or your) subreddit.
Sure I have some things I do, some I've done more than once:
But the hard part is we all have our own things we try…and we're all volunteers as it were. Learning from each other is why I'm posting.
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to hear your story either in this thread or via DM.
Or the lesson of what doesn't work

Say I were to own r/a:t5_<something>. If that subreddit isn't yet restricted due to being unmoderated, would a username like u/a:t5_<something>-ModTeam be possible when the moderator(s) remove posts/comments and submit the removal reason using "Comment as: Mod Team"?

Anybody else having issues with removed/actioned items not clearing from the mod queue? I’m using the iOS app, 2026.41.0. Started last night and I assumed it was just a quick glitch. Force closed, came back, still there. Updated the app to the current version, still lingering. And it seems to still be happening today. Some posts that have been actioned just linger but others seemingly show no action at all. Last night, I removed something maybe 10 times and started to doubt my sanity because it was still there with no indication I’d done anything.
Is this a me thing or a Reddit thing?

Five women's health subreddits have had their moderation taken over by a guy selling products from a company he is co-founder of.
The cofounder brag and links to his social media about the company are in his bio. He has posts and comments touting products from his company.
How do I report this as a clear violation of the Mod Code of Conduct?
Edit: helpful folks supplied the links below. Thanks everyone!

Hello,
It has come to my attention that a few individuals who were banned site-wide on Reddit have returned using other accounts and even were reinstated as mods on some of their old subs. One of these accounts is new, while the other is an older alternate account.
I reported both accounts: one over a month ago and the other more recently. I did receive a reply from an admin stating, “Thanks for reaching out, we'll take a look at this user's activity and take any necessary action.” about the older report. However, nothing appears to have happened to that account. In fact, the user has even been reinstated as a head moderator of some communities and doesn't seem to be particularly secretive about having created a new account.
This leaves me wondering how seriously Reddit takes site-wide ban evasion and whether these reports are actually investigated. Or can they simply return after some time (or right away I guess) and carry on using Reddit as if nothing happened?

On r/italy, we filter almost every post and require OP to leave a comment before we approve it (so we check it's not a bot, it's not spam, it's something worth of discussing).
Recently, last few days, users have started reporting that they can't comment until the post itself is approved. This effectively breaks our workflow.
Has something changed recently? Is there any workaround that still allows OP to comment while the post is in the mod queue?

I've reached a breaking point in my subreddit. I run a queer gaming subreddit that has been the target of constant brigading, attacks, has 2 dedicated subreddits stalking us. The stalkers ban evade from reddit and they're on their 4th account. Their new post is a threat to dox me after also posting a meme of a trans woman hanging by a rope. I am at my wits end and I don't know what to do anymore. I think for my safety and the safety of my queer members being a public subreddit is a risk. I want to keep the community I have but in a way where we don't have a constant target on us and only members can see the posts. Is this allowed? I want to make sure I'm not breaking MCoC before I try.

I took over a subreddit and have slightly changed the direction of it. Is there a way to get rid of the content before the change over that doesn't include going post by post and deleting?

I have had to clear out hundreds of reports for "It's involuntary pornography and i do not appear in it" where basically every post is either reddit-based creators or posts of publicly available professional photos.
It is clogging up the mod queue and making it difficult to filter through what actually needs attention. Is there some way to report the person abusing the report system?
The subreddit is r/tuftie_peek (NSFW)

For reasons I still find rather frustrating, edits made to the "old wiki" versions of wiki articles do not synchronize to the "new wiki." Making the same edits twice is not something I'm interested in, so for some subreddit wiki articles I simply link users to the "old" version because that's the version I actually maintain.
It's not clear to me if many users being locked out of "old reddit" will prevent them from seeing the correct and updated version of these wiki articles.
As usual, it's a little frustrating that mods have to be the ones to bring up concerns like this whenever admin unilaterally changes something (sort of like automod being less accessible despite the "replacements" not being able to do half the things automod can)

As it says in the title. I am the sole mod of a community. Earlier today I got multiple emails about my account having a password change, email change, and 2fa change. Then I checked my subreddit and a new user was added as a mod. Seems like they used their access to my account to add their other account, and then using my account they reordered the mod team so that I cannot remove them. I've sent requests in all the channels I can think to, but I want to make sure this is resolved before they try to use their position as a mod for anything nefarious.
Edit: It seems as though my account is marked inactive. it's a pretty infrequently used subreddit so I hardly ever have any moderating to do, which I assume is why it's marked as such. Does this impact anything?

This may sound very stupid. I have created a new subreddit and want to change the icon and banner. Every time I do it never saves, but there is no option to save. Hitting refresh reverts it and I am unsure if it has something to do with settings or if I have to go into settings to change it.

There is someone who has been banned for a year. He went off in modmail constantly attacking. We kept muting for 28 days and when it expired he would start back up again. Finally was able to perma mute and then block him on our personal accounts because he was in our dms there too. Well. Now a year later after some peace, hes harassing our new mods. Is there a place to report him to because this is getting ridiculous.

So, just had this modmail come through from one of our users:
Hi there!
We're contacting you as part of our regular research process, in partnership with the volunteer moderators of r/my_subreddit, to understand how Redditors engage with r/my_subreddit. You are receiving this survey because you visit r/my_subreddit. If you choose to participate, your responses will be anonymized and shared with the volunteer moderation team of r/my_subreddit so that they can better understand the needs of people like you and make improvements to r/my_subreddit.
If you're willing to participate in this survey to help make Reddit and r/my_subreddit better, please complete the survey at this link within the next week. The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to fill out. Thank you so much for your time!
Best,
The Reddit Admins
For more information about this survey, including how to opt out, please see this link
Emphasis is mine. The user did not include the links that got sent to them, and did not say which account it came from as I write this message.
My concern (and immediate red flag of it being a scam) are the words "in partnership with..." - we don't have a 'partnership' with the admins, and unaware of surveys being sent to visitors.

My Idea would be for a better Mod Panel Queue under "Removed" all Content 7 Days or older gets Auto Deleted. Right now It stays forever which is not needed.
If it is Removed or Deleted there is no reason to keep It in that Queue that I can see.
Another Option would be to send It to a Trash Can for Deletion after 7 Days.

Over 45,000 posts were untagged and all of our flairs deleted.
Is there any way that this can be rolled back? Obviously we removed the offending mod.

I don't think this is just an issue on my end, as I've already tried from another device using a different account, in addition to my own. I think there's a problem with the macro-categories in the various subreddits. When clicking on them (iOS, mobile app), instead of opening the leaderboard/ranking, it throws an error. Does anyone know why?
Thanks!

I want to ask that can we delete our existing mod only chat channel and create new one, I know we can create new one, but Idk how to delete the older one permanently, Since our current mod channel is filled with so many clutter and non sense talks, I want to fresh start and delete the older one so new mods can't access that

I am trying to update the rules in the sub I moderate. They were posted by automod and I thought that a scheduled post would go through automod and it doesn't, it'll post as me. I'm new to this part of modding, so I tried to research and clearly I failed. How do I delete this and get it to post through automod?
ETA - I'll go to the correct sub for how to get it posted correctly. Just need help on the deletion of the scheduled post.

We had a pretty good system for making sure everyone was a human who had read the rules in one of my subs. The past few days it has not been consistently working.
If their account was under a certain subreddit specific karma requirement, their post would be filtered and an automod comment would appear on the post to say “you’re in our queue, please reply to this comment and we will approve your post”
Some of the users in our queue are able to reply and doing just fine, others are sending us modmail that they are unable to reply to our automod comment aka “it’s greyed out”.
This seemingly unannounced change is adding a lot of extra effort to our workflow. Does anyone have ideas as to what is happening?
Why can some users comment on their posts when filtered for mod approval when others cannot?
